I got in touch with someone recently who used to work as a 300 specialist in Tokyo. I'm getting a workshop manual from him, and as part of a clearout he says he has about 100 boxed Nissan plugs to find homes for. £20 for a set, contact Paul Farnworth (cdma@tesco.net) for details if the price is right. Raz... (...who took advantage of the rare clear skies today to whip the tops off and freeze me balls off doing 70 around Hampshire's back roads! =))

has anyone seen that max power video of those guys that go to the airfield and do the top end runs. i found it quit funny. the only guy to run the times he said he would was the sierra cossie, everyone else was way over what they said. its funny how you think your car is so fast and then you go to do times and they are nowhere near what you expect.

Here's a post from some in the U.S about his drag strip event in his 96TT with stock ecu. Even Malcolme Lowes' nitrous powered Z has only ever managed a best of 12.8 on the 1/4 mile at Santa Pod, and that's the quickest any UK Z has ever run! READ ON >> It started off as a typical day at the drags for me. two back to back 13.2's with 2.2 60 foot times. But this time my mph was up to 109. So that was a good point. Then a horrific 13.9 @ 105mph. All sorts of shit went wrong there. Now, eliminations. Dialed in at a 13.0. Ran a 13.1 @ 108mph with a 2.1 60 ft, with a slight let off at the end to not break out. Fine, I can live with that. Then…

does anyone know of any good 300 mechanics in the North West London area? I'm kinda getting fed up with changing Nissan garages. I had one that the guy in charge was the one who worked on the car, but he left and basically I did not have any confidence in the garage after that. Cheers!

My speedo's a duffa, I fink Its broke. disconnected speedo wire when changing gearbox oil, drove down road afterwards but forgot to reconnect cable. Got back, re-connected cable and now speedo over reads by about 40%. Help!! Does anybody have any suggestions? Please tell me that the speedo drive isn't affected by the type of gearbox oil or something mad like that! Cheers, Paul (Still love my ZX) I feel a strong and long term relationship building between me and my newly aquired Z. Think I'll marry it soon, (wife won't be too impressed)!

I am considering buying the number plate: A 300X i am buying this of a private individual who is asking £2500, in your opinions what would a fair price for this type of reg be as I feel this is quite steep. Is there a market for this type of reg for fellow Z owners if i decided to sell? I would appreciate your feedback before I make a bid. Thanks all

My temperature guage works normal for most of the time. As soon as i got up to a bit of speed it starts to read colder and colder, give it some welly and the guage just drops to the bottom and rests on the stop. Come off the motorway and the guage starts to go back up to just below normal (where normal is slightly below horizantal. The car appears to be running at normal temperature. Any body know what's going on?

I'm new to the forum and have been reading through the past 2 months of discussions to brush up on my knowledge of the ZX. I have seen insurance mentioned a few times as people have recommended the cheapest companies to each other. I wanted to recommend Lanaster Insurance. I am 21 with 4 years NCB. They have just insured me fully comp on a 1990 Jap import 300ZX 2+2 TT for £1050, They are good for imports as they don't charge any extra as long as there is a compariable UK model of the same year. Their number is 01480 484848. Thought this might be of use to younger/ import 300ZX owners.

I have recently purchased a 1990 import 2+2 TT and want to replace the rear bumper with a UK one to avoid the square number plate. Could anyone point me to the best/cheapest place place to find a new replacement? Other than the bumper, i am really pleased with the car and this web site looks very informative for new owners of the ZX like myself.

In two weeks time (15/10), the world superbike championship is at Brands Hatch. In case anyone hasn't seen it, the racing is AWESOME. I'm going to be going and will be booking tickets within the next couple of days. Cost is £33 to get in plus £15 for grandstand tickets - if they're available I'll be getting seats at Paddock Hill bend which is the best place to be seated. If they're not available then I probably won't bother with the other grandstands. If anyone wants to come along then please email me at work on Monday (david.hairs@landg.com). Please only email me if you're definite as I'll be booking by credit card and can't afford to suffer losses after my gea…
