Sorry if there is a duplicate posting.

 

On the back of the top of the head, in the centre are two plugs, one is connected one is not. There is one socket, both plugs fit it? I am puzzled. The plugs are two pin, one plug leads to the loom of th engine harness, one to a sensor of valve on the rigt hand side of the ballance pipe.

 

Any Ideas?

Do you mean this one (where the left blue arrow points)?

 

It's the variable cam timing solenoid connector.

You can trace its wire to the solenoid itself (left red arrow).

 

Another 2-pin contact around there is more to the center of the plenum.

It's the detonation sensor plug and its wire goes down below the center of plenum.
