Trev pointed out that women(mainly blondes! LMAO!) aren't impressed when you tell them that you drive a 300ZX! I just asked my Mrs. "Hey baby doll, if I came upto you in a pub/nightclub and told you that I drive a 300ZX would you be impressed???"... She said NO! She also added that if I hadn't got one she wouldn't even know what it was! DOH! I then put it to her...ohhhh errrr Mrs....."So if I asked you the same and said it was a Bimmer, Merc, Porch etc. would you be impressed with dat???" Do I need to spell the rest out! She creamed when I got the Merc. Saying it was the nicest car I'd ever bought! WTF is that all about...a D-reg Kirk over an…

I don't claim to be the worlds leading authority on this particular make of car, but you should understand something(s) Buying a 300ZX is not as clear cut as buying any other car. Most Z cars are hitting a decade plus in age, be careful, your average used car dealer hasn't changed personallity over night either! Any used car whether it be a Mini or a Ferrari will take your money and you for a ride into hell if you aren't careful. Although we love to cast dispersion on Mr. Wilson, he does speak some sense, but the worst thing about buying a fast car is being sucked in by the "cheesey grin" factor! Say you have 5K to spend on a car, you may have kids etc. and…

If you are here paulb, just gotta say I *fookin* love your car in the rides section. The styling on my old banger is very similar: http://www.300zx.co.uk/rides/senna/ Shoot me a mail mate glenlewis@newyorkcity.com I'd love to have a look at that car of yours in real life m8 Glen.

How the funk are you supposed to read the auto box dipstick? (or the normal one for that matter!) I read the manual, and it said to read it when hot, and with the engine idling in P.. OK.. Pull dipstick, wipe, put back, pull out.. I can't tell if the oil is up to the max mark, the min mark, or somewhere in between! Definitely oil in there (and it's nice and light in colour too) but I'll be buggered if I can tell how far up that hatched area it goes.. Any tips? And yes, yes, I know it's a stupid question.. Haven't managed to read the engine dipstick yet either! Az

OK so I already posted this in the "good experiences" forum.. But I thought they were *so* good, they deserved a mention in here too Just thought I'd share my experience of Bob from Safe & Sound Chester.. He (and Len) came all the way from Chester to Maidenhead, arrived at 11.15 I think it was, worked right through (supplied with plenty of cups of tea of course ) until about 5.45 to fit a Cat 1 alarm (with all the bells & whistles - total closure, windows, turbo timer, and folding mirrors), laser defuser and radar detector.. Good price, good deal, good service and good blokes! Oh and Bob - ya left me boost gauge vac hose unplugged from the …

...What do you think of the 300ZX without it's rear spoiler? I looked at one last year, and it looked quite smart...reminded me of a Lexus LS300 at the rear! JEZ [This message has been edited by JEZ300Z (edited 24-08-2001).]

Oh that's just dandy that is ! ! ! Received my tickets this morning (thanks 300z) and lo and behold... looks like I won't be able to join in. Why you ask??? Cause in BIG BOLD letters it say's "YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW YOUR DRIVING LICENCE". Fantastico ! What's the chance the pigs will return it to me by then? F*** all I'd say. P*ss*ng perfect ! So the question is.. do I hang in there and hope my licence arrives in time.. or do I put 'em up for sale - any buyers out there? (Those that have had points added to their licence... how long did it take for them to return yours?)

I've only just started to consider a 300ZX TT as my next car, after previously thinking it would be way too expensive. So I was looking on the Autotrader website and I was surprised to see not only that you can get a (probably) decent '93-'94 ZX TT for around £8000, but also the tidy looking '90 models were going for about £6000-£6500. Does this mean that is I bought a '93-'94 car today I could sell it on in three years for only £1500-£2000 less that I bought it for? I must be missing something, surely??? I also got a surprise when I looked at insurance. According to elephant.co.uk it will only cost me around £750 (I'm 27 with full ncb). Does this equate wi…

Hi Haven't the prices of 300ZX's dropped in the last six months? I was looking at the Autorader site to-nite...feel sorry for those who paid big money for their cars a couple of years ago..He He! Seriously..I am glad I sold my car when I did...don't think I would have got as much now!( a few months down the line) Think I'll wait until the winter sets in B4 buying another Cheaper one! Doesn't have to be a daily driver now, so it needn't be a perfect specimen. JEZ [This message has been edited by JEZ300Z (edited 24-08-2001).]

I thought it wa sa bit of a mad idea having the sidelights in the fogs, anyway I went and looked (in the day) and I couldnt see any light from them. But anyway I was polishing the inside in the dark and i turned the lights on to see what it was like with the instruments lit up, and I saw a little reflection on the garage door. So I got out, and looked, and there WAS LIGHT! A very dim blue light comign out of the fogs, YAY! I think it needs new bulbs though, cos its SO dim!
