thanks to all for the 60k service info. checked receipts i got with the car and seems it's actually been done, albeit not aal at once, but nevertheless. which leaves some money and an airfilter that needs replacing. the car has standard exhaust - back boxes to be upgraded to something that wont wake the neighbours at 5am and haven;t upgraded anything else. can I fit an intake kit without ruining the mixture or needing a chip? also one that will be useable upto about 400 ish bhp? i liked the look of a metal one i saw, but have forgotten who manufactured it.....any reccomendations ?

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, "if GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1000 miles to the gallon." In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics 1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day 2. Every time they repainted the lines on the road, you would have to buy a new car. 3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no…

Just been on the phone to them...but first here's the ad. from Max:- M-TEC HID KIT Previous HID kits for H1/H7 fitments have used H4 bulbs with adapter rings. This M-Tec kit is the first one available in the UK to be specifically tailored to fit straight into H1/H7 housings. Regal Auto Bulbs have sourced German ballasts and ignitors, together with Phillips Xenon bulbs, to bring you a kit that produces a beam 300 per cent brighter than stock bulbs. The fully UK legal kit takes a mere 10-15 minutes to fit and can be whipped out and fitted to another car should you choose to sell your old one. I know this issue has been done ad nauseum but after having read all the previous posts I am still confused (could be the sleepless nights I've had ...) My passenger side headlight just went (have a Jap Import TT) and I need a quick replacement as I do a lot of late evening/night driving. I understand that my car takes H3 bulbs, but from your posts it would seem that these bulbs need modifying ... Is this correct? I am looking at getting a pair of these two bulbs: 1. PIAA HiLo bulbs (high output, low watt). H3 bulb draws 85W and produces 130W. Retails at £17.87 each. or 2. Osram Super 30% brighter H3 bulbs - retailing at £9.95 each. I know H…

Totally original '84 ZX300 Auto for sale. 45,000 miles, white with Burgandy interior. My father in law has owned it from new and has kept it serviced. I have had to have the rear calipers rebuilt because they seized (EBC have done an amazing job on those!) Recent new boots and exhaust. Perfect for anyone looking for an unmodified car. Sensible offers, but we are not after a mega price! [This message has been edited by Peter B (edited 18-09-2001).] [This message has been edited by Peter B (edited 18-09-2001).]

There are a couple of GTi-R's where I work, I think I know one of the guys...anyway...see this one everyday in the car-park on the way in. Came in last week and noticed that down the front in that lovely fat empty space in the front dam he'd fitted a monsterous I/C...oh it looked the dogs beach balls! So came in this week, walked on by, looked down to oggle the gorgeous Intercooler and "Noooooooo, what have you done?"... Some people have style, but some definitely don't! Instead of getting some of that really nice honeycomb shaped mesh to protect it with he's obviously made a b-line for Bravo & Quebec and bought some chicken mesh! I ain't talkin' mesh …

When I am stuck in traffic for more than about 30 mins just stopping and starting in first gear the biting point of my clutch gets higher and higher untill it is slipping like mad. Had to pull out of the traffic tonight and drive at walking pace in first gear to get home tonight but after a few miles of driving normally it slowly gets back to normal. This happened in the queue at Trax (this is why my track time pass is still in the car The clutch cant be worn out because when it returns to normal I can put all 1000 bhp through it without any slip. All, Anyone shed any light on the following problems; 1. Biting point of clutch high up pedal travel. 2. Audible clonk when engaging lower gears, goes in higher gears. 3. 'Graunchy' noise going from first to second. Bad when cold lot better when warm. Getting NO clutch slip whatsoever, but had similar problem with a Renault (In a previous life!) and a new clutch sorted. I'm guessing I need a new clutch, but wanted some advice first. How much should I pay for atock clutch replacement, or should I uprate it? If its gear selectors, are these expensive (silly question I know, but RELATIVELY). ? Thanks, Glenn

How low can you get... Having spent thousands on bodykits and engine mods, and finally 17" wheels LP tyres and a lower'd suspension (see my car in the rides section) - there is only one place (it seems) in the UK where I can get my car on an MOT testers ramp! (The sliding jack need 5" clearance, and I have about 5cm at the fromt) DOH! If your in the same situation, I can recommend 4U cars in Old Windsor - call 01753 867730 - Excellent chaps - and great body shop next door too! Finally sorted - after visiting about 15 MOT stations - Phew!
