Well, I was looking to TopSquads, but a) I couldn't get a decent insurance quote, and b) looks like he's decided not to sell. So, does anyone have (or know of - perhaps in a local garage/dealer) a 300zx TT, auto, unmodified, preferably UK car, but I'd look at an import too? Service history a major plus, if it's high mileage then either the turbos and timing stuff done, or the price to reflect this. I've looked on Autotrader (hint to self: use 300 not just 300zx as the model number and lots more appear), but I'm interested in learning about others. I live in West Berks, and work in Staines, so somewhere near either of those two, ideally. P.

My power steering is feeling strange. It will work fine and if I turn the wheel sometimes it is harder than it should be and then all of a sudden goto nice and easy. Never used to be like this. Another example, when going around a corner the wheel usually tries to straighten up and to do so all you have to do is ease of turning a little. But I have to physically turn the wheel back, which doesnt feel right. There is enough steering fluid, by tyre pressure is perfect, thanks to the Smartire unit. What could it be, powersteering unit going? Could it also be front suspention? Or just that the front is gripping really well? Unlikly! I have had a very small and I do …

I see that MJP are flogging Mongoose exhausts for £450 + VAT. I know a couple of people here either have or had these exhausts, any opinions ? I know that Hairsy's motor, with a few other mods, was knocking out 432 bhp, so they can't be much of a restriction. Are they well made, reasonably quiet (without being boring) and value for money, or is there something much better in a similar price range ? I'll probably also be junking the cats at the same time ... Just a thought, what diameter tubing is the Mongoose exhaust ?

Whilst minding my own business on that sunny Sunday driving up to Silverstone for Trax I came upon (not in the Biblical sense) what appeared to be a hapless Sapphire Cosworth. It was at a roundabout on the A43 and the Saff spots my evil Zed as we 'round the 'bout'. So I know by the look of the passenger he is going to exit the roundabout in a streetfighter stylee, and boyyakasha does this guy go. Now whilst I didn't want to let the side down so to speak, I was a little hungover and lazy on the go-pedal. Anyways he never got away but my old cooter only just kept up. I wasnt really trying anyway and he got a better exit of the roundabout but never underestimate the pow…

Hi fellaz, I had a rather worrying experience yestoday. Coming back from Harry's the car started with the HICAS warning light on. Thought ohhhhhhh shiiiiiitttttttt. Drove down the car park with no strange/lack of power steering. Turn the ignition off and restarted and HICAS warning light disappeared, phhhewwwww. Car drove fine after that. Errrrr, should I be worried as this could be a warning of future Zed sickness????? Today, got the wheels/ tyres sorted out i.e. left wheels on left side of car and right wheels on right. Things were looking goooooooood. After work I took a colliege out for a spin in the Z. Everything was fine until I sensed that the Z seemed sluggi…

Was speaking with my engine builder today about engine balance and brought up the subject on lightened flywheels and underdrive pulleys. I think everyone who currently has an underdrive pulley fitted must notice the more agressive engine note beyond 3000rpm. The is because the at certain RPM's, the crankshaft will resonate violently and this usually overcome by the stock front pulley with harmonic balancer. The outer part of the stock pulley is supported by a flexible rubber bond which dampens the tortional vibration of the crank. An underdrive pulley does not have a tortional dampener built into it and therefore cannot dampen the vibration resulting in r…
