Hi guys by now you must of read about Danny`s car today and the mystery sudden dead battery. It`s winter guys! we all are guilty of forgetting to check the battery until its too late.The problem is made worse for us Auto guys (don`t u lot start)as a bump start is impossible.As a rule in the built in battery condition site glass that has a green to red colour range on some battery is a good guide, but don`t be fooled Danny`s battery was showing green (ie all ok) just because the car starts and seems ok the old battery can be suffering from low electrolite level.Topping up after the plates have been exposed is fruitless as air will have started to effect the lead plates s…

Getting serious about track days, esp the fact that Pukekohe - our local track - has some serious hairy high speed corners so it's rollcage time. I'm getting a half cage fitted w harnesses as a From Rowan To Rowan xmas pressie. I'm wondering if anyone in the UK has installed one and have any "gotchas" to look out for. I want to tie it into the roof but thats death to the interior so I'll probably hold off for a little while. The US design ones are crap, way too low across the roof line (probably even below the top of your helmet!) . Rowan

Hi all, Need your help diagnosing the problem. Haven't used the car since late Tuesday afternoon (did move it to a different parking space yesterday and all was fine). Just now as I'm trying to start the car nothing happens. All the warning lights come on and when I turn the key to start the car there is a very loud rattling noise coming from the engine. I've never had this before (in any of my previous car) so I don't know what the problem is. I left no lights on, doors open and the alarm/central locking is working fine so I guess that rules out the battery. Anyone here who can enlighten me? I hope to have it sorted quickly as I need the car late…

Is there any forum members who do servicing/ belt changes and other general stuff for zx's? Need to get some bits done on the zx and im sure some of you guys would do a much better job than most garages out there ? CheerZ

Just thought I would share this with you. As a few of you know the last company I was working for went down the tubes oweing me money I can now say the government's redunancy payment service has now coughed up so I now have a couple of grand to spend on my Z Me thinks 1. 60K Service 2. Blitz Air Filter 3. JWT chip 4. Boost guage 5. KYB Shocks 6. New Brakes (havent decided which ones yet) Along with my already purchased de-cat pipes and custom built (jp) zorst, tc and breather kit i think i will be happy. Cheers Martin

I have a portable DVD Player in the car and when putting DVD's in (any region), the Player just sits there for a while doing nothing - as if it can't recognise it, then on the display appears a message - C13. Music CD's pickup okay on it. I've tried Sony's site for help but to no avail. Does anyone know of any other decent sites which could advise me what this means. Cheers Chris

I joined another forum yesterday to enquire about this suspension lark I have been going on about. I put a sensible question down regarding this and all I got back was complete bollox. I had about 17 replies in one evening and not 1 of them gave any advice. All it was doing was taking the piss about me wanting to lower it, being from Essex(!),....... I was bloody annoyed about it and really ripped into them!! We are all lucky to have a forum like this one where you always get decent answers no matter what questions you ask. Keep it real... Chris

Where the heck can I buy these lamps???? I have tried Nelson and they want to take my money and make me wait for 6 weeks - possibly for the wrong part. I have three different sized bulbs in my left-hand (aircon) cluster. Two large, two medium and one smaller, coloured Grey, Brown and black respectively. In my right cluster I have mainly green and one black! Johnny/Luke anyone know of a compatible product? I have been soldering bulbs into the little holders and I am fed up with it - HELP! I like beer I do!!;-)

With lots of chat going down about the general poor quality (being V polite) of the Zeds headlights - I decided to have a look around good old Harry Halfords, and came across some 130watt - single wire bulbs with the correct shell/fitting. Soldered on the earth plugged it all in and bingo - bloody hell - I can see. Cost me £10 squids for the pair. I cant believe it's this simple - have I missed something, do they only last 1 week, or self destruct at a given speed during a badly lit hairpin? HELP I'm loosing sleep?

Who has had some good deals on some Grooved, X drilled Vented Discs lately? I know there are some other threads about them but I'm f*cked if I can find them. For some reason, the person who had me motor before me only changed the front discs. The back one a so knacked it is untrue - why not just do them all in one go? Anyway, not sure whether to go the whole hog or just change rear 2 and get some mega stuff later. If anyone has any bargains they'd like to share, I would be very interested. ABP could only quote me on 2 front Black Diamond discs at £276 and Mintex 1144 front at £88. This any good or not?

Maybe we should have something in the "What to look for when buying a Z guide" as I'm starting to think that not only my Turbo actuators have been replaced with Turbotechnics jobbies! I was on Turbotechnics website and noticed that they do hybrids etc. I've mailed them to see if they've got any record of any work carried out on my car by them in the past. If my engine hadn't come out it would have been nigh impossible to see that even the actuators aren't stock as the Turbotechnics plate is right underneath and pretty much obscured from view. I mean obvious mods are exhaust, wheels, bodywork etc. But things like boost upgrades with welding tips in the …
