My Bro had been telling me to try Elephant for ages, so due to Diane having a right mare getting a decent quote I tried and not bad! I did try for an import first but that meant ringing them, so I went back and changed everything to be my car. I've recently quoted and started paying 893 squid with protected NCB etc. But that was 6K miles a year so limited mileage policy and I've only got a couple of years NCB anyway. With Elephant... 31 years old 2 years NCB 1991 UK spec Twin Tub Auto Red Valued 7.5K 12K miles a year average 250 squid voluntary excess Didn't mention alarm Didn't mention garaged or parked on street Mods. Well thanks to you all this afternoon for your help, I was supposed to be working but this is more fun. I think I'll be on this site a lot! We pick up our new 1990 TT Manual on Friday/Saturday and if there is anyone out there who can hook us up with a local member for a bit of reassurance we would be very grateful! Help! I've reset the monitor on my very old PC laptop to a resolution that it can't display, the result is that when it boots up it goes through all the load procedure then just displays green and yellow horizontal lines. How can I reset this? I can't do anything with it at present. I'm a complete idiot/dunce with PCs, I use a Mac (please don't hold that against me). Please explain any procedure in words of one cylabul - ta! If anyone can also send/email me a boot disk that would run on an old 386 I'd be grateful. Thanks guyz Tim

Me and my worst half used to have a 1990 Auto - had 2 lucky years with it but it got stolen. We have shopped around and found a gorgeous looking 1990 manual - leather, new alloys, in Scotland. Guy has had it for 2yrs from an import Co and is selling for a Fireblade. A 40 something guy who did no more than 2,000 miles - (done 42,000). Once we came down to earth, noticed a minor oil leak, old oil, but couldnt locate. He wanted £5,500, bought it for £8k, we knocked him down to £5,200. We felt that on the whole it seems like a good car - immaculate interior and body, and with a cam belt change and a check over for the oil leak, we should have a nice car for the money. …

Just wondering if anyone here has ordered from http://www.nissanparts.cc before? Seem cheaper than Courtesy, and their parts search *works* (they use proper Nissan part numbers, not Courtesy's buggered about ones).. If nobody has.. I shall be ordering as soon as my new credit card turns up, so I'll let you know how I get on with them! CheerZ Az

God, I must have had my grumpy old cow head on last night, sorry guys..... like someone said better to get it out on here than on your car or some poor buggar at a meet, as Tooley said that hasn't happened YET! I can't condone war on supra owners unfortunately, but porsche 'people' are another matter, and deserve everything they get so go and get them lads and lasses and sorry for the boring bitch act!! xxx

I've found that it's the wrong time to be selling my Chimaera and dealer prices are dire. I've got a choice of either selling now or waiting until the spring for the prices to go up. If I sell now then I save 5 months worth of loan repayments. SO ... If someone is looking for a serious bargain, I'm not going to be any worse off if I sell the car now for less than it's strictly worth as I can save myself a lot of loan interest. I'd be prepared to take £15,500 for it if it's sold SOON (i.e. it saves me loan repayments). I'm a member of the TVR car club and it's competitively priced (IMHO) in the club magazine at £17,000. If anyone is interested, please email …
