Hi all, It's been 7 or 8 years since the demise of my beloved zed (cooling system self destructed but that's another story) and I'm finally looking to get back into ownership again. Looking for a TT manual that's been looked after. I just looked at a UK spec car which has had a manual dropped in and it ran really smoothly from cold and behaved well on a test drive. Problem is there is a 3-year gap in the paperwork so it looks like the last owner basically did nothing. There are a few questions I'd appreciate views on before deciding on this one… 1: It's done a lot of miles (138k) so should be on its 3rd cambelt. No evidence of 120k change so that would be …

You were driving up from edgeware road, I waved at you as I was walking the opposite way. I think I've seen you before, I'm the guy with the white zed under covers on kingsbury high road.

Hi everyone. Just like to say that I had quite a lot of work done on my zx this week by Jeff. Autobox fluid change, rockerbox oil leak, onepiece prop fitted. Turns out my leak was also camend seals. All the work done was photographed and emailed every night. Extra parts needed like plugs and pcv valves were supplied as very good second hand parts at a very good price. I had to travel 110 miles but would say the work carried out was worth every mile. Also gives you an excuse for a good drive home in a car that now runs spot on. I, like many others on this site would recommend Jeff, and a great bloke too. Lynda was good enough to pick us up from the train station as well.…

Well it has been a long time coming lol, 4 years in primer, the first 2 beige and last 2 in white. With driving the zed everyday, it was always difficult to pick a good time to get it done, but now ive bought a cheap runaround and going on holiday next week, so the time and chance has come  I started yesterday with some wet and dry on the main bodywork, which is smooth anyway but after years of weathering the primer is very porous and attracts the dirt and grime so easily, so had to get rid of a layer. It will be re- primered with a couple of high build coats before painting, but the least the bodyshop has to do the better for me lol. The bumpers are an…

I have a stock auto engine. It's chipped, has had the filter and exhaust modded and i've a Profec B controller. I've always had the controller set to 14psi but would like to know the reasons for not setting it to 21psi. I know that with my auto tubs i can't hold 14 psi at the top of the revs so i expect if it can achieve 21psi it will be over an even shorter rev range. This is all to get the best 1/4 mile times with what i've got.

Been checking the timing just now with Paul and I have a question around how you check the timing. In short, what angle should you be looking down at the timing marks. So directly from the middle of the car? Or from the side where you'd have to look if the fan shroud is on which is from the side. Just thinking that the angle you look from would mean you set the timing differently that's all.

With LakeZ and the Z32 25th anniversary meet coming up, I thought I should give the 300zx a good polish. It really needs a respray to be honest as it's stone chipped to buggery. Since I don't have the time for that at the moment a polish will have to do. Fished out all my detailing gear, and set about figuring out which stuff to use this time. Started off with Blizzard snow foam. This came with my Snow Lance, and I'm just using it up before starting on Bubbly Jubbly. It looks good on first application. But it has to be applied neat to get any decent foam, and it breaks down too quickly for my liking. The car had been given a full cla…

Hey everyone. Quick question, were all Z32s fitted with ABS as standard? or were some None ABS? Looks like mine has it fitted and I will be removing it. If there is no None ABS model, then Im guessing I can use a None ABS BMC from a R33/32/S13/14 etc. They look the same. Worse case senario I'll have to run one outlet port to the fronts and one to the back with a bias adjuster. I only need to do this as a stepping stone to a cool mod. Please don't call me an evil minion of doom for not wanting ABS :) It's a drift car remember and trust me it's more dangerous to have it lol. Cheers

I have now installed two blitz bov's on my z. The problem is throttle a now not as smooth as it was with the recircs. For example if I plant my foot and build boost only to about 5psi and slowly release the throttle the car jerks. I assume this is because of the measured air isn't being matched by actual air, correct? Others with bov's must have experienced this? I am planning on having the car mapped soon on a rolling road, will this eradicate the problem? Thanks, Dan

As the title. Just managed to scrape an MOT due to a corroded front cross member amongst other things. Is it a big job to replace this with a new OEM one? Are they bolted in or welded into place? Hopefully the former. Any advice would be very welcome.

If your temp sensor is dogdey enough to temp make your car run lumpy for a miute whilst just warming up. Then would this be enough to put your car into safety mode . And if yes then when would safety go of ? When you next turned your car off for a while. And if you car went into safety mode how would you know apart from a slower car? Just woundered.

Hi, I'm having no luck with spurious parts and long delivery time frames from the local Nissan dealers in Ireland. I've got a '95 JDM spec Fairlady, that I need a upper suspension arm bushing on the front left side and front bushings on both front trailing arms. Has anybody any suggestions, where I can get these parts ? I need these to get the car tested. /M

what would be causing this. its like the diff has no oil? is the diff fecked or just needs an oil change. Just converted from auto to manual on the na lwb with a one piece prop. cant believe this is horrible to drive after all the attention and money lavashed on it this past 3 months. The joys of the older cars. its just horrible to drive as stated with a vibration/ whinning from the drive train. I would presume the prop is balanced correctly as it was never on a car .

Be interesting to see what that car actually sells for, but still looks to be a nice Euro spec: http://home.standvirtual.com/classicos-colecoparticular_visualizar_7749576_carros.html

My VIN plate is starting to look rather aged - I am looking around to see whether anyone has had a new one made up? Can Nissan supply these? In addition, I have come across this : http://www.vin-plate.co.uk/custom_vin_plates.html Anyone have any experiences with this type of thing?

I might have the opportunity to obtain myself a 300zx over the next week, I understand you need a de-registration certificate from when it left japan only problem is i don't believe the guy selling has one, I've seen sites offering duplicate certificates for around £150 but then this also could be a scam, what else would I need ?

Z32 vg30dett On my zed I have an after market stainless exhaust with the oval back boxes. On the downpipes there is a tube welded on each, approx 1/2" in diameter, which has been capped off with a piece of hose and a spark plug jubileed in place. My question is what are they for and can I just cut them off and tig weld a plate over hole????? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
