Finally got the zed on the road after 4 months doing all the fully adjustable suspension just in time for a holiday to devon, car made it there and back and the ride was great, 2 days later the clutch goes. Time for upgrading, going to get a lightened flywheel and uprated clutch, what other things are best to change whilst the gearbox is off, would prefer to get uprated parts if possible? Cheers Lee

Looking at amassing some bits and peices over the winter. Amongst other thing such as new springs, shocks and what not, I want to get some adjustable front camber arms to correct the camber. I gather the rears have adjustable camber on them. Don't want anything mega expensive, just something that will do the job. I'm only going -30mm (Eibach).

Hi folks, just picked up my Z from having a major service and just thought I'd try and get an idea how well I did pricewise. My Mechanic (he's like a greasy pet lol) is a private garage but he worked for nissan for 15 years and ids fairly well Z experienced. The job was... oil, oil filter, sparkplugs, air filter, cambelt, air-con belt, pas belt and alternator belt, and front brake pads.... always keeps all the old bits to show me what he's done... £200 labour , £211 parts, inc VAT. total £411 inc vat. I reckon thats ok... what do you guys think?

im going 2 buy new alloys with tyres but im not sure what 2 buy between 19in team dynamics drifz with avon f1 tyres at £1025 with nuts and balanced or 18in ultralite 755's with toyo or falken tyres and nuts and balanced at about £12 to £1300. what would be the best mix and match and 4 money reasons would i be better off paying more at the start 4 the 18's or less 4 the 19's and then prob more l8r 4 bigger tyres. have standard 300zx with no mod's and prob wont get wider arches at front or back, many thanks 4 helpin me with this puzzler. :headvswal

Hi people, I've got a bit of a situation here. My Z was low on oil so I top her up with a fully synthetic 5W40. Its the same one that was in before and never gave me any problems up until I topped her up. Once I topped the oil, started her after a couple of minutes on idle, I started getting slight blue smoke. Then once it was fully warmed, I revved it and it gave out loads of smoke and its been like that since. Now its ok on idle, no smoke or anything but once I rev it hard it always gives out loads of smoke. Now im thinking (well hoping) that I have maybe over filled it with oil. Any suggestions????

Hello, I have just joined this forum as I've bought an M-Reg 300zx Fairlady. Love the car but I'm having a few problems with the gearbox. 1st, 3rd and 5th gears seem to be OK but 2nd, 4th and Reverse are 'noisy'. Crunchy would sound too harsh in this instance. I've just had a new clutch fitted which is fine but discovered this problem shortly after. I really hope that this isn't going to need a new gearbox but am expecting the worst. I really need to find a specialist who can check this out for me and was hoping you guys might be able to point me in the direction of a few contacts. Thanks Steve :)

Looked at the history for my car today, and have just noticed that it has been covering 2000 miles a year since 1998, and only covered under 1000 miles in the last year, prior to me owning it (I had done 500 miles in 2 weeks, but only at 600 miles for 3 weeks now!) Therefore the car has done 15k since 1998...is this some kind of record?!? Anyway, my question is this: From looking at the history, the last cam belt change was in 1998 when the car was on 80k and the car is now on 95k. I know cambelts should be changed every 60k or 5 years (roughly) but this car has only covered 15k in 8 years, should I change it?

Yo yo and thrice yo My jap import zed was lowered. But when i got it it didnt not have the camber sorted accordingly. I have since sorted this for the front with adjustable upper suspension links. But the rear tyres still has a rather excessive negative camber. Ive read that the rear camber can be tweaked a little. But is this little enough to correct camber if the car is lowered to 5" of the ground. If not what gubbings do i need to get to have good control over the rear tyres camber. I have replaced the bloody awfull Bridgestone X-Grid tyres on the front with some uber Falken 451's now its the rear tyres turn but i need to sort the camber first. Onc…

Hey dude's I've got that good old crunching into 4th problem. After searching it seems the recommendation is change the gearbox oil to redline mt90 BUT, how long should this fix it for? Basically if I'm gonna have to get it refurbed I might as well just do it now & roughly how much will a refurb set me back?
