Sorry about the pun  I was jetwashing the zed earlier and was blasting the brake dust from my rims - not for the first time. Unfortunately, with the pressure of the water, a load of the silver paint on the spokes of my wheels has come off  I don't want to have to fork out for a re-furb, plus I know some companies are reluctant to touch split-rims. Are there any paints on the market which could be used to touch them up? Cheers, Dave

Hi guys, I have a 300zx H reg twin turbo. ad my mate do some work on it and he left the bunch of 6 earths (ithink 6 anyway) off the engine, then tried to start it, this caused the ignition amp to get red hot and fry itself as earth was tried to be foun,d so ive fit a new amp, and found that i have no trigers to them, or the ignition relay. I now suspect a blown ecu aswell. So where is tere ecu located? (people keep sayin different places). Please help, or if there are any more ideas of faults. It was a perfect runner till he did this. I'm gonna be doing a boost leak test sometime this week when the PO finally deliver the tester to me :xxx: Will doing this also show any leaks in vacuum lines and other pipes etc. Also, is there anywhere on the net or the forum that will give me a picture of likley pipes that may be leaking if I do find a leak ? Hi, I "may" soon be putting on some nice 19" wheels on my car and am looking to buy lowering springs from Mike at MJP. On his website he states you can specify the drop, spring rate, etc and as I'm looking to keep the ride height as close to stock as possible (whilst reducing the arch gaps) I thought these would be the right choice. For the time being they'll go over stock JDM struts (relatively new). Questions: (1) Has anyone else bought these springs from MJP? And if so how do you rate them? (2) I'm looking to install these myself - what specialist tools are recommended? Many thanks! Dan

I've installed my amp in the car.. but there is a constant winning sound from the speakers. The power cable runs down on the right side of the car and the rest of the cables (speaker/phono - rca) on the left side. I've never had this problem when i've installed my amp in other cars. It seems like it is the altenator??? The wining follows the rev.. Any ide. Bad grounding on the amp????? (but if so, then the amp should not even turn itself on)

I took my wheels off recently and put new (third hand!) ones on. When I took the front wheels off, one tyre had worn much more on its inside edge. What should I get done to stop the currect tyre wearing like that? Tracking? Something else? Cheers!

I replaced my jap spec rear lap belts with UK 3-point ones today and had no problems. I was planning to replace my door mounted belts with UK pillar mounted ones at some stage too. However, although the mounting point were there with the threaded back plate for the rear belts, there are only holes for the front belts - no threaded plate to screw into! So, can I just not do it? Or is there some way round the problem? Obviously I don't want to do anything that's going to make the seat belts useless if I do have a crash! :headvswal

Ok, so the tailgate on my car has been smoothed....and done badly. I'm very picky when it comes to bodywork, and if it's not perfect, I'll get it sorted. There are areas where you can see filler in the holes, the tailgate itself also has some small dents on it. Now, I've gotten bored of the tailgate looking so bare. I do like it, but keep seeing Zeds on the US forum with their OE 90-93 (series 1) spoilers still on...and I'm starting to like them again. 99-spec just wouldn't suit mine with it being pearl white and I've yet to make my mind up about the lip spoiler. I know most here hate the original spoiler. But I'm wanting to keep mine original looking …

Does this particular symptom ring any bells? Driving about 70mph, box is in 4th (overdrive) at about 3000rpm, then for no reason it changes to 3rd and revs obviously shoot up, then after about 2 secs it changes to 4th again. It keeps doing this about every 10 secs. Fluid level appears to be ok and looks new. Ta.

Hi. I'm looking at buying a Z and have been doing some hunting and searching and wondered if any one on here could offer some advice. I'm looking for a manual twin turbo, and so far the only one I've found any where near me is from a company/trader called Import-ance (http://www.import-ance.co.uk). I'm in south east London and it's in Slough, but seriously that's the closest one I've found! Does any one on here have any experience of this company? The guy has a 94 silver Z on auto trader which I'm quite interested in, 51K on the clock. I've never owned a Nissan before (all Honda's) so if any one knows of this place or has used them before advice would be great. …
