I have decided to buy new tyres. The tyre sidewall markings are as follows: Front: 235/45/R17 Rear: 255/40/R17 My question is, why is the front aspect ratio (45) bigger than the rear aspect ratio (40)? Should this be the case? At the moment they are all Bridgestone Blizzak winter tyres which came with the car. They are fine in the dry but are darn right dangerous in the wet. They aquaplane really easily. Also they have a maximum speed rating of 99 mph Toyo Proxes seem to be the number one choice. MyTyres.co.uk have quoted £335 for 4 tyres. Does anyone know of anyone cheaper?

I got onto the motorway yesterday and floored it, car went into power mode, got up to 70mph and eased off on the acelerator and the revs (on the meter) dropped to nothing but the car carried on at the same speed even when i took my foot totaly off the acelerator. got to a hill and went to accelerate a bit, nothing happened for a for the first bit of acelerator travel then revs shot back up to 5000 (so i seemed to only have a choice of 0 revs or 5000revs). i carried on for a bit then pulled into the services (it has happened a couple of times before and stopping has seemed to fix it). got out of the car to discover burning smell from under bonnet, engine was hot, …

hello, i was hoping on some advice on my leaky steering rack. i cant keep any powering steering fluid in the car unless i use Leak Stop fluid and even that just slows down the leak to a trickle. i had the original rack replaced becuase the dealership could not adjust the alignment anymore. i bought a used one from the UK, because it is the closes right hand driving country to me. it was installed and worked fine minus the fact that the delearship said it leaked. they put new gaskets in so i am hoping that is not the problem. which leads me to the leak. in the interest of saving money, where should i look for common failure items so i might do the repair myself. i…

As some of you will know, ive spent some on my zed recently and now have Smithys big brake kit, stillen anti roll bars, goodridge hoses, greddy profec B spec II, apexi induction, scorpion exhaust and datascan. When i brought the car i was told it has a jwt chip in (need to check i know...), has lots of hard pipes/ stainless bling under the bonnet from various forume sources. I want the car to be faster, it handles nicely now, but just doesnt "feel" that fast. What can i do to make it feel faster.. (not looking at the extreme of getting the engine out for new turbos.) I know i need to look at the chip and probably swap to john dixon or andyp's chips, bu…

Things arnt going good in the world of zeding!!! On my second one now which was spose to be a real good one. This squeel that the engine had that starts after about 3-5 seconds is still there. Thought is was cam belt idler bearings, which were fooked on inspection, so changed all of those and its still squeeling. Had taken alternator/water pump and p/s belts and it still fooking squeels. So really im only left with the CAS or what else, oil pump?? Any other ideas as im well p1ssed off with zeds now!!!!!!!!

Ok I definitely need help on this. My Cobra alarm has a red led on the dash and I was hoping to change it to a blue led to match my interior lighting. Now looking through the spec the red led is running on 12v and the blue led I have found runs on 3.6v thus I need to put a resistor to get this to work. Now the thing is any ideas what strength resistor do I put and where do I get one ? Also, will this resistor be attached to the red wire of the blue led going back to the control unit or the black one or do I need 2 resistors on both the wires ? Never was an electronics guru so need help guys and gals. Cheers !

A big thank you to Gaz for letting me see and use data scan for a general health check. You can read what you like about it, but only you can make your mind up once you have seen it! In my opinion it really is a fantastic bit of kit, and I would like to get hold of it in the future. Thanks Again Gaz!
