I know it's a big ask, but does anyone nearby have a spare ECU I can borrow to prove if mine is buggered (or not). Been trying to sort my TPS problem and need to eliminate things but don't really want to fork out £100 plus only to find it's not the ECU at fault. Other option would be to swap out the ECU from another car, but not sure how willing folks would be to do that (it's a 10 minute job). Mines a Jap Auto TT if it makes any difference. For those that haven't seen the other thread, my datascan report 0.92v for the TPS at closed throttle, but a multimeter shows that the TPS is spot on at 0.44v and I replaced the TPS thinking it was that at fault. …

Is there any links/writeup to changing a S1 PTU to a S2 PTU ? I am ashamed to say, I couldn't even find the S1 PTU today after faffing around for 30 mins under the hood. Is the conversion a doddle or a pain ? However having problems finding it in the first place. Has anyone got a photo of it whilst on the engine ? Also any ideas where this temp sensor goes ? (Just got one off MJP except always thought it was a yellow one but was given a blue version for some reason).

When I get in my car and drive it over the speed bumps to the main road when the weather is hot my car makes this noise (clicking)...from the shocks I think. When I get on the main road it stops. It does NOT sound good. Has anyone had this? I don't know what it is but it sounds like the wheels will fall off. Or is it just the hot weather on the shocks. PS. This is NOT a Bobby Ball Pee take. I need to know what the noise is over the speed bumps. Thanks Zed bods.

I couldnt find a guide on here but did see pointers like keep the caliper supported so.... I saw the 2x 19mm bolts that looked to hold the caliper in place and removed them, sure enough the caliper came away and I rested it on an axel stand so not to stress the pipe. the disk came away very easily and i swapped it for the new one. So far so good and I was feeling very pleased with myself never having tried brakes before! Now I can't get the caliper back on! Do I need to remove the brake pads first? and If so, how? Please help as I want to go to Modified madness tomorrow!

How important is it to change these. Engines been rebuilt but not sure if they were done. Wanted to put all the cambelt etc back on this weekend, or would it be worth waiting to get some VVT springs and do them as well.

hi guys ive just fitted some 5mm wheel spacers on all 4 wheels, took it out for a spin and it drives like sh1t. the steering wheel shakes like crazy on uneven roads, and when i pulled out to overtake it felt like i was gonna lose the back end :( (but it drives ok on flat roads its as though every bump is been exajorated) could it be that the car just needs re-tracking, or could i have bought sh1te spacers. as anyone had similar probs with spacers? cheers si

Hi guys, although the summers over, im thinking my zed would benefit from a bit of extra air flowing under the bonnet, and was thinking of getting vented bonnet (maybe CF?) for my zed. Ive had a bit of a look around and not really found anything too tasteful (ie dont want max power / evo style huge vent!) Im more after just a couple of vents (one either side) that dont over power but let some air in. Was also thinking as ive got a black zed a carbon fiber bonnet might look nice, particularly if i paint most of the bonnet and only leave a bit of the CF showing. Anyone seen anything like im describing above?

both good and bad. Found a major leak in the seal for the metal pipe that connects to the plenum on the underside just behind the drivers side throttle body. One of the bolts was loose. It was a PITA to do but now thats tight and sealed. Sorted. Found another leak..... Its coming from a rubber pipe about 2 inches long right at the back of the engine, passenger side under what I think is called the AIV valve near the battery....... how the fook do you get to that  Need to get that sorted asap. I still can't pressurise the system very high, maybe only 2 - 3 psi (crap guage). Anyway, took for a spin after sorting the first one and I'm still only gettin…

Right, i took the car out earlier and filled it up with fuel, after this its felt fine, no missfiring. Ive just been out with my dad (so he can check it too) and it was fine on the drive revving it. We took it down the road and it was all good until i went round a corner and it started to missfire, then it ran smooth again. It missfired abit more every now and then but not as much as in the past few days where it missfired all the time. Could it be the fuel filter? If so where is it?

My zed seems to have gotten audible gearbox wise. Nothing major, but you can certainly hear it inside the cockpit with the t-tops on. Only in 2nd and 4th. Is it the bearings on that shaft that are on their way out or is it a lube related issue? Still changes fine, not crunching.
