Hi guys I.m in need of help here my exhaust is blowing like mad and my MOT is due. I think the problem is one of the cats as I kinda beached my car the other day on a friends drive... I'm seriously upset about this as I've had no end of trouble and now I've gone and broke my car myself! I have been considering two options. Either I go for a de-cat or I get another exhaust. I've been told getting the De-cat can uncover problems with turbo seals, causing the turbo seals to appear have just gone as the turbos begin to smoke, previously covered up by the cat. In which case I am looking for a replacement exhaust as well so if anyone has one they wish to sell/do…

when car is cold and i fire her up for the first time inthe morn or after i finish work, the car misses and wont accelorate properly (slightly back firing) also when i touch the accelerator the revs drop from just under 1500 rpm to 1000 rpm (choke on) and sounds like it is getting more air than petrol, it also hesitates on pulling away then when its warm the revs go up to just under 2000 rpm, but it stills hesitates when pulling away any ideas

can someone please show me where the o2 sensors are please. i know they are at the back of the engine but not sure what they look like. a picture would help

I have been looking at insurance quotes for the past couple of months for my first zed and couldn't believe how cheap it was. I was getting quotes of £400-500 for a 25yr old, 1yr NCB, kept in Bournemouth which is one off the best rated areas insurance wise. However, now i think I have found the zed i want and getting ready to buy i have just checked again and the quotes have doubled! what is going on! someone warned me that this was going to happen but i brushed it off, but i believe they have actually reclassified it now. I cant do classic insurance as it will be my main car and will be doing about 10k miles a year.

I was wondering wether it would cause any damage to the turbos, engine or pipes if the four outlet holes in the apexi bovs were made smaller? i have a pair fitted, dont get me wrong, love the sound... just want it louder!! any info or opinions would be recieved greatfully :dance:

Hi, just recieved my decat system that i got from e bay (must say seems excellent). I was only expecting straight decat pipes to fit to existing downpipes but it has the pre cats as well - cant fit one without the other as the new pre cats are longer. Seems an ok job apart form the upper 2 bolts that bolt to the turbo,s - any advice how to get to these.

is the alternator the same in all models? specifically will my auto NA import 1995 alternator fit and work properly in my manual tt uk 1990 car?

Right after the close brush with Zed toubles (http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=79243) a few saturdays ago I am having problems with the cooling system again! This time I was driving back to the office and I noticed the temp gauge had rocketed, and steam was starting to come from the engine so I pulled over and popped the hood to masses of smoke. I've managed to get it to the office (I was driving through London traffic so not exactly rocketing it along). Soon to be lifting engine and wondered on same mounts? or 2 x urethane 1 x nismo(gearbox) or solid mounts? Running 555's bigger turbos. Any recommendations?
