I almost embarrassed myself by buying a new gear knob from helfrauds today. I already have an aftermarket one that was on the car when I bought it and it looks ok but is a bit old and tatty. Which aftermarket gear knob do you have and where did you buy it???????

drove the car last night and she just died on me. seemed as though the car had suddenly run out of fuel. arked her up and went back for her this morning and she started straight up. again today its done it twice and after a few mins it starts again. sometimes starts then dies straight away. anyways got her home eventually and parked her on the drive. left ticking over for an hour while i pulled and proded all the connectors on the engine hoping that i wud come across a dodgy connection but shes still running. any ideas. another thing, i have noticed two brass valves near the front of the engine.. one on each side of the main intake pipes . they look as though they c…

Dunno if anyone has read this months Japanese Performance mag but there is a '10 best jap cars under £4000' section. Now the zed is in there along with others such as a subaru wrx, skyline gts, mr2 turbo, evo 1-3, mx-5, 3000gt and some others. They are all rated on tunability, handling, performance and.... street cred. Now most (including the zed) have scored 3/5 on street cred. Except for the wrx which scored 4!!!! I hope I'm not the only one who thinks this is shocking. Now this isn't a 'which car is better thread' as we all know that the subaru is a good car. But 4/5 for street cred!? When they're everywhere! I know many people have posted thanks to Luke on here, but wanted to add mine!! Bought a set of 6-pot venoms and had problems linking them with the high level brake LED on my viper rear spoiler - basically it acted as side and brake instead of just brake!!! Luke was superb, numerous e-mails and phone calls and he found the solution, after he'd stripped his own car down to find the problem!!! I now have venoms which work/look great and a high level brake light that does what it's suposed to do!!! He knows his stuff, is easy to talk to and treats you like a person, not a nuisance...what a star. Thanks mate, Steve

Just had a quote for a repair to my wing and bumper. As you can see from the photo below when I hit a high kerb with the front bumper (Hadn't had the car 24hrs) the bumper seems to have split the paint on the wing. Heres the thing. I have been quoted £220 labour and £145 paint plus VAT to do the repair. The company haven't seen the car it has just been done by email. The company I have found are http://www.finishlineukltd.co.uk/premises.htm here. The photos and the right up they have seem good but I was wondering if this is a fair price? Darrell

well i've decided to keep the car, or at least finish off the project and this is all thanks to this site. a special thanks to stella who bloked off my sales attempt. for those who don't know what i'm going on about is i tried to sell my project car yesterday as i just came back from the garage and was sick and tired of how long it is taking to get finished. but after a good nights rest and another look at the car i've decided to keep it. it will take a few more weeks to finish and from then i will be the proud owner of my on customised 300 and a subscribed member.
