I almost embarrassed myself by buying a new gear knob from helfrauds today. I already have an aftermarket one that was on the car when I bought it and it looks ok but is a bit old and tatty.

Which aftermarket gear knob do you have and where did you buy it???????

Mine's got a momo one and to be honest I like the stock one better.

It came with the car when I bought it.

i have a momo one at the moment too - the drift golf-ball style one. ive since bought an F1 style gearknob but cant get the old one off to fit the new one!!! :headvswal

In my opinion, the best looking gearknob is the Razo aluminium one I got from Smithy.

here is mine.. and i hate it!

its come loose and i cant tighten it for the love of cheese... :headvswal

I think its just me turning it wrong ... but it doesnt do anything the other way either!

Try undoing the collar on the bottom, under there should be

about 3 allen key fixings, which tighten a grub screw into

a plastic collar.

what does that look like?

£20 ebay shite - good quality tho - the bottom unscrews to let you put in the allen screws.

unscrew the bottom collar take unscrew the gearknob after slackening the 3 allen grub screws , put some thread tape on the threaded bit of the gear lever then reassemble in reverse order should be ok for few thousand miles ..

talking of bottoms and stuff , nice avatar by the way ......:)

I have an Isotta gear knob, my car didn't have one on when I got it and I drove around for weeks without one, thats strange I can tell you, so I got this and I love to hold it

Yes I have seen it, all big and shiny :xxx:

I have the 99 spec one which is basically a standard one but with red stitch which matches my handbrake/gear lever boots.
