General Discussions - 300ZX Related

While I was running the power for my amp I noticed a Greddy speed limiter cut mounted next to the ECU. Unfortunatly it has been disconnected, does anyone have the instalation instructions for this or know which color wires to splice into to enable it?

Hey, planning to have the recaro seats that came with my 96 jap Z reupholstered in soft leather :dance: and the rest of the car retrimed Thing is a want some special detail incorporating - embossing etc and cant find anyone local :headvswal :( Anyone know or have links/telephone numbers etc for a top one in the midlands area Cheers Stephen

drove my car today,put it in reverse and it wouldnt come out of gear.had to stall it to stop and now cant engage any gear.the clutch peddle has gone really soft.had to bump start it in 2nd just so i could limp home..topped up the clucth fluid which was low but :( didnt help.any ideas as to whats up

Been offered a set of the above trouble is the car they are on has hit the kerb and wrecked one of the rears, how easy is it to buy just a single wheel ?

Hey There everyone!! there is 2 question sI would like to ask; 1- what is the original hight the Z comes with in suspension? and if I wanted to lower it, what is the lower I can drop the suspension in order to not damage or bum the underground of the car? in the road,,any bumps etc..? I mean how many cm would be recommended according to your experience?? what are the best lowering springs in the market and shock absorbers? 2- does anyone know the code number for the original purple metallic colour thatw as released in after 1997 in japan on 300ZX´s?? would love to paint the Z with that colour..?? or where can I get it from? any link?? okie dope that´s …

I've been having boost problems for a couple of weeks, It only comes on full boost at about 5000rpm when it used to be 3000. At 3000 it's only on about 3-4psi :( . I've had a good check around for a possible boost leak and have so far been unsuccessful. It also has a metallic tinkling sound coming from the turbo area which you can only hear at around 2-2500rpm as the throttle is let off. I took it to my local garage today (he's done work for me before) and he had a listen to it and suggested that it could be the actuator. He's getting it up on the ramps for a proper inspection on Tuesday, anything else he should look for? If it is the actuator, is it servicable/adjustable…

How big of a job is it to convert my hicas (hydraulic, series 2 TT) into electronic hicas. and is it the same system as on the skyline gts's. reason i ask this is because iv found a gtst in a scrapyard with electronic hicas and my hicas is leaking at the back somewhere. any info welcome cheers danny

hi, new to the forum but had a couple of zeds. can anyone tell me the differences in the turbo + bhp between jap spec manuals and autos? if completed an auto to manual conversion, but have been told the auto turbos are smaller and are only 280bhp, where the manual is 300bhp. is this correct? and would it be worth swopping them? cheers rob

Hi Mate - i can't beleive it, the first time I see another Zed and my Girlfriend is driving my car! She didnt know where the flash was, so i waved.. Looks nice, first time i've seen a white zed in the flesh...very nice

what do you think? The centres still have to be polished and the bore needs enlarging to sit back by 10mm but you get a good idea what they'll look like. Do you still think go for polished centres or go for black? :rolleyes:
