ok its a big one but how exactly does the pcv system work, the valves allow gasses through when theres vacuum in the intake , when the intake is pressurized the valve is closed so your bottom end of the engine isnt pressurized and the dipstick doesn't pop out, i cant see how these valves sticking open or closed would make the car smoke on idle as thats what the valves are supposed to bloody do isnt it ( let the crank gasses into the intake ), so what is the real cause of smoke on idle?

Was giving it a bit of thrash, not too much, when it started puffing a bit of white smoke out the back. drove home carefully and took a rocker cover off. There was a lot of oil emulsion around so I assumed a head gasket had gone. Strange cos they're good gaskets, anyway, whipped the heads off and there's a cracked piston and a 2" long split in the cylinder wall! So with this being the latest in a succession of engine disasters over the last 6 years I've decided reluctantly to call it a day with building cars. I have the Series 3 Suede interior panels so instead of retriming them I had a few of the other pieces done instead to compliment the rest of the interior. Retrimmed in Black leather with Blue stitching, pretty pleased with the outcome. Its subtle. but does the trick I think. Not got my retrimmed upper dashboard back yet though.

is there a difference between a n/a and tt prop or are they the same cheers:confused:

hello all im new to the forum,i am having a problem starting my 300zx tt it turns over but wont fire up i have changed the coilovers and the petrol is getting to the pump but after turning it over for a while there is no smell of petrol any ideas thanks john

Guys, Can you remind me what goes onto this pipe off the balance bar, i cant find any loose pipes anywhere, looks like some sort of vacuum hose should go onto it, but im lost to know where it comes from?!?:confused: Anyone got any ideas on where i could find where the hose comes from Cheers

After sobering up this morning, me and my girlfriend took the zed out for a drive around the country, after about 45 mins of good driving down lanes we came across a small pet store / equestrian supplies place outside of Billingshurst, West Sussex. This place is in the middle of nowhere. Only about 4 cars in the carpark and all 4x4's. Had a look around the shop for about 10mins. Come out to find an immaculate white UK TT parked next to my Black UK TT. Whilst having a look around it, the owner approaches me with his partner. We get chatting about zeds. Basically i think his zed was garaged for 9 years, decided to see what it was like, only needed to jump start …

Hi all very angry upset and pissed off me here. friday was on my way home, hit a stretch of dual carriageway, indicated to pass a flat bed Ducato van, got alongside him and he pulled out!:eek:! no warning no signal nothing. Then to make things worse he proceeded to carry on coming out and smashed me into the crash barrier.:shock: the pass wing mirror bust the side window and hit me in the head! and he has wrecked both rear panels, both doors, front bumper, bothe front wings, and all 4 of my alloys. Hey guys Ive spent ages tring to track down an earthing problem and wondered if the old earthing straps the hung off the back of a car and touched the floor would benefit the car in any way? Cheers

Take the engine out myself, no great rush as im still saving for tubs and buy gt 525. Or wait untill I have money, then get garage to do work and rebuild old tubs? ps live in norwich :(

Hi all ....... here are some pic's of the outside and inside ,of my engine after it went bang big time (thank's silverbullet lol) As you can see it's .....broke in a big way ...!!!!!! We now know that it was in 2nd gear doing about 100mph @8700rpm...:shock: one of the piston's look's like a crushed coke can .... the rod's are bend ,the valves are bend and the crank is bend.....and BEST of ALL...... THE BLOCK has a massive crack right through the middle of it .....:hyper: ...

Well been a busy busy lady; not been here much as been working lots and lots It's all over now ...thank god! My lovely zed is getting all it's work done since failing the MOT miserably and will get it back in next few weeks Even getting all the bushes done too, spent oodles of cash this year on it, so that's it for a while got other things I wanna do with my money now ( I feel a trip to NZ is my next goal x) I think I have replaced nearly everything on my zed; so it will be well cool and looking forward to being in it again :D :D :D Have I missed much????

bought a set of billstein sports shocks and springs off ebay for £130 quid and got em fitted today , no drop as my standard shocks already had bilstein springs but the sports shocks makes the ride feel so much more positive now.
