Hey all want new injectors but what to go for? I'll never need more than 555's but I have read negative things about them failing alot... 740' s would be running at 60 versus 80% but are a couple of hundred quid more expensive? Are the 740s worth the extra? Cheers

It's been on my mind lately, what with the petrol costs and the amount of money it seems to eat from me when it comes to the MoT...! I dont really think about the insurance much as it's cheap as chips! Cheaper then my old 97 Civic I had! :wack: I think I'm at the point right now where I should sell the car as it would be in my best interest. I think over the years I've had the car I've probably thrown a good £8k at it. What with my first silver Z giving up the ghost and then getting my grey beauty I have now. Now I have the money to actually put her right, I dont feel I should throw that money to her any more and throw it into something more worth it in the …

Hi all, I've got a strange problem with my throttle... A lot of the time (but not always) when accelerating slowly, I get a blip of hesitation. If I just put my foot down, it's not noticeable, but if you feather the throttle it's there. The strange thing is, it seems to be at a particular point on the throttle - if I'm really careful, I can push the pedal in and have the revs build, then get to a certain point where the revs will drop by a couple of hundred, then carry on pushing and they'll build again... Any ideas? Dodgy TPS? Fuelling? Fuel map? I've still got the old 'stalling when clutching in' problem too, if that means anything.

Abit worried about the oil lines i had made up to turbos (greddy td05 18g's). I have read the oil should have restrictors to the turbos. I e-mailed the company that made the oil feed lines for me and they said they can supply me restrictor bolts or in line but! some turbos have the restrictor built in and i should find out first. Can anyone shed any light for me?

I want to remove my rear spolier (the crappy rubber one). I don't want to go down the re-spray route as in hindsight, the car doesnt warrant it. The spoiler however, has to go. What are my options as to what to do where the spoiler once was without having a full respray? Cheers guys.

I read pretty much every thread about Brake pads on this forum. Seems like the Majority are saying Ferodo DS2500 are the best pads to get with Mintex 1155 coming in 2nd, followed by a number of others like Portfields and Hawk and then a few even say EBC are good (however I don't like EBC pads). These pads will be fitted once I rebuild my calipers. I have 338mm Original Brembo discs. R33 GTR Calipers These are currently fitted with Portfields. My main problem is Brake sqeel, I absolutely hate it. So much to say I am willing to sacrifice a little stopping power if it means less squeel. So do I go with DS2500 or mintex ?. Do you still get squeel wit…

I've got problems at the moment with the zed with it's idle keeps going just keeps varying from about 400 to 1200rpm in cycles (if you know what I mean), seems to be running rich (coked plugs and used £30 of fuel on the drive) and won't rev about 2400rpm. As I understand it - the 2400rpm limit is from the ECU being in some sort of safe mode? I am suspecting the MAF/AFM to be the cause of the safe mode but wondered if I could have such a big boost leak that it's causing a dodgy reading from the MAF and fooling the ECU into thinking the MAF is knackered? I've not ran any diagnostics on the car yet but I'm looking into buying conZult. Is there anyone near Stoke-on-Trent with…

Hi guys , got a big problem and was wondering if anyone can help / advise please....... My girlfriend bought an MR2 a couple of months ago which had a sigma M30 alarm/immobiliser already fitted , anyway she had never had any problems with it until Saturday afternoon when we went to the Rangers v Liverpool game. We came back out after the game only to find that the button on the Fob was not disarming the immobiliser (ive since read that these mind not work in certain areas because of phone signals - never had the car near Ibrox before so dont know if this was a issue here) anyway , we tried for ages to get the fob to work & typed in the pin code on the box b…

Hi guys, I recently put up a thread asking for advice on chips and one of the members very kindly helped me out with a Devin map for my N/A Kreg 300ZX JDM with decat and filter. Today it was put in and the car jumped up by 13bhp at the wheels so im over the moon however the tuner has told me the way forward is bigger injectors and yet another chip to suit........ I on on the other hand being the useless putz that I am have rather ignorantly lost the name of the super star that helped me last time with the chip, yes im a :xxx:. So if your out there buddy, please give me a shout and anyone that can advise on maps for a chip and increased cc injector choice …

Ok the thread size for my aftermarket oil pressure sender is 1/8 npt the stock size is too small and it wont screw in, Ive also tried to screw it in the blank hole just off the side of the oil filter but tahts also the wrong size and now my driveway is very oily ggrrrrr I dont want a sandwiche plate so where could i find an aftermarket sender that will fit in the blank next to the oil filter? one that will work with my gauge? Or can i buy a thread adapter to screw it in? but then i think it might get in the way of the lower steering knuckle ggrrrrr. So annoying :(

Fellow Z owners, Have you come across this one.? Recentlym, (this hasn't been happening for long) I have had a strange intermittent fault occure after driving for a while .The fault starts and then goes away...and then comes back in again..weird! Innitially it feels like the kind of vibration you get when your wheels are out of balance and then it gets really bad and you can not just feel it but you can see the whole car shaking. When I get this symptom happening I've slowed right down and even at 10mph you can feel the shake in the steering. Each time this has happened I have found a place to stop and checked the tyres for any thing obvious (ie bulge in tyre wall ,side pla…

Last month i was gonna sell the zed for personal reasons but yesterday i drove the old girl to the lakes and she did'nt miss a beat, even had a bit of a play with a TVR and i think i scared the driver when i opened the zed up properly and left him standing, this together with wozzer shouting at me down the phone saying "you'd better keep it you northern monkey" (cheers wozzer) has made me realise how much i really love this car. So from now on i'm gonna drive her as often as possible and not let the price of petrol get in the way  roll on the good times :D:duffer:

Just read this news on the Times website see link http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article4454274.ece So basically it seems like the Government still have not made up their minds. We could still be hit with a big tax bill in the future if they decide to penalise owners of older "polluting" cars! Grrr. They just want to make sure they get more money in. I dont believe it is about the environment at all. Surely keeping an older car running well is better as the cost of energy involved etc in manufacturing a new car would be higher than keeping the old one runing for longer. Just think of all the transport, manufacturing etc energy and carbon used in making a…
