Hi all Been talking to a guy who has a 95 TT manual for sale. He said however it doesn't have a turbo guage in the dash as they stopped putting them in later cars? Would this be right? If it is right how can you tell if its boosting properly. All seems a little bit ooh and ahh to me. Mike

Can anyone with a SWB do me a favour? I need a measurement from the rear bumper, along the horizontal join with the body and bumper, the distance from the wheel arch to the corner of the body (not end of the bumper that is a few inches past it) Hope that makes sense :o

Morning guys, I brought another painter round to look at my car last night (a mates brothers mate who just gave his opinion and not in the position to do the work so is unbiased). He was shocked any bodyshop would turn my car out as a finished job :( After a lot of swear words he said they'd flattened the hell out of most of the car and most of the marks would come out if they had actually polished it properly. The bonnet had not been really flattened and the pin holes would have come out with a good go with the mop. There are marks that are in the paint and would have to be sprayed again. The T tops are not the same colour, both doors have not been laquered on the un…

Had a dusting with one of these tonight, it was in front and took off like a catapult when exiting several roundabouts! Anyone else came across one? It couldn't open any gap on me, I was running 1bar boost in my swb Z and if anything I closed the gap on him! My first time against a Nobel. Nice!

Hi guys, I'm a total newbie to the zed n' I've got a 1995 N/A Jap import. It is basically standard apart from the exhaust and some sort of a air flow control. I really don't know what this air flow control is but it has a on/off switch n' a controller ranging 1-9. When in idle I tried switching the air flow controller off and the rev counter slighly increased n' settled around 1000rpm. With the air flow controller on the rev is slightly below 1000rpm (750-800). So my problem is I'm experiencing some sort of a power loss at lower rpms. This is noticable when I speed up from a stop in the normal cruising style. But if I'm more aggressive :nana2: it is not notica…

i have just sat in nearly an hour of stationary traffic in the zed, temp gauge was half way as always, the sub fan kicks in and then off after cooling it down a bit. having had an issue with the top hose popping before, i put the heater onto full heat and check that the air that comes out is constant heat (ie to see if it changes to cold, then possible an airlock) Air stayed at hot all the time, gauge didnt move, all seems good. tunr it back down to 10. Park up at home, turn off, nothing weird just the usual clicks from the zorsts cooling down. Go indoors. However 5 mins later, go outside and can hear water bubbling into the expansion bottle, but top rad…

Well I think I have to accept that my zed (UK 1990 TT) is going to take a trip to the scrap yard in the near future. Over the last year the rust on the bodywork seems to have progressed really quickly. I have just gone out to do some jobs on it as I was going to take it for its MOT next week, but whilst underneath I noticed a hole in the near side sill, I then had a good look around the rest of it and after gently tapping inside the rear wheel arch I was left with the pile of rust in the photo below, about a three inch square section fell off, the rear bumper has no support left now. I have already replaced the hatch as that had gone. Rust is showing in…

Hi All, One of the (many) things keeping me from getting the ZX back on the road is the current lack of a sound system. I already have a Kenwood head unit, and a reasonable sized amp. I have also sorted out the wiring to go under the carpets to the boot, and also the power lead though the inner wing and into boot too. What I need to do now is get rid of those black BOSE boxes front and rear, and install some new speakers, as well as getting hold of a boot install that RETAINS THE CAPABILITY OF STORING THE TARGA ROOFS. I'm not after a set-up that sounds like the Albert Hall, or one that could knock it down with the out-put. Just something that makes a half d…

Hi all Sorry for asking a real dopey arse newbie question but I am looking to get my first Zed. My car should be sold tomorrow so will have cash ready to go but have some questions. I know I definately want a manual turbo but am not sure of other models id's? Such as Z32 etc. Apart from the obvious style change over from late 80's what happened then? Any help much appreciated Mike

I have a custom stainless steel decat exhaust system on my twin turbo Z. I have now decided that i want the car to be even louder... the car has two small silencers just before the tips. Is it ok to remove these? Will it cause damage to the turbos? A lack in back pressure? Any more information too would be great, thanks, Dan
