My might AstraVan has been in for its second MOT today which puts it at 4 years old although it sat on a forcourt for the first 6 months of its life and we bought it pre-reg in the November of 2009 with 23miles on the clock. So we have had it 3 and a half years. Its now done 141,200 and in that time had: 2 Full sets of Tyres 1 Set of front Brake pads 2 Headlight bulbs 1 Set of Wipers 1 Crank oil seal 1 Front Wheel bearing Cambelt change and 7 services I don't think thats half bad considering the pain it takes! What other silly milages with next to no maintainence have people managed?

  2. Well pretty much asked the question in the thread title. Basically, got a mate who has a lowered van on springs, now her springs are 50mm, but she is saying the MOT guy has told her she needs short shocks as the springs will wobble and fall out due to the shocks being higher? Now im not up on Astra vans, so not sure if the shocks and springs are separate, or if they are one unit like our zeds, if its one unit, then surely there should be caps to help seat the springs, if they are separate then again, surely there are end caps to bolt to the body work at some point, i cant see why they would be free floating, because if you go to the top of the travel, then yes…

Always used MSN and Hotmail on the home computer. Messenger runs when I start up the pc and tells me how many emails I have, and lets me know when I am online if any knew ones come in. Seems that Skype is the order of the day now ? I have Skype, which I use every week to chat with the daughter in China. But it doesnt have any email notification ? I never use Messenger at all. Apart from the email bit ! So question is, how can I get an email notification for Hotmail without having to sign in every time I turn my pc on ? Or is there a seperate programme available that lets you link/join Hotmail/Google accounts so that you dont need to sign in ever…

Last weekend was a mix of the show and getting the car ready for paint/mot = 200 miles, went to Luton Tuesday morning, back last night, cleaned house as in laws arrived at 10 last night. Up at 4 this morning, flew to Glasgow to pick up the wife's new car and drove home for 5pm! Now have a weekend of DIY with the father in law before back to Luton on Monday.....:pinch:

I love this place as not only is it a wealth of information on the Z32 it is also a mishmash of expert advice for all sorts of things, not to mention the great banter we have. I just haven't found any other forum like it. For example I joined a large fish keeper forum the other week, I put up a hello thread and I've also asked questions. To date nobody has been arsed to reply to any of them. Ask a question on here and you get an answer or pointed in the right direction. Ask yourself this; How many times have you had a question on a subject not zed related and your first thought is, "I'll ask on 300zx.co.uk someone on there will be able to help" ? Long li…
