I have never really believed that drivers of one make of car are any worse than another - sure, we all joke about BMW/Audi/Volvo drivers etc, but in my experience the majority of those displaying the poorest driving skills seem to own an MPV. Please note, I am not saying MPV drivers are bad - I know several people on here drive one due to family needs etc - hence I worded my statement very specifically... Nor am I saying that my driving skills are anything special - but I try to keep out of other peoples' ways and, when someone else is in my way, I simply pass them at the safest opportunity and with the minimum if fuss (I do have 2 fast cars...) But h…

I need to create a Hardstanding for the zed, to give me a good proper space for maintenance, gravel sucks. As a rough guess 3mx2m would be sufficient to cover a zed foots print? I read I need around 4" depth of concrete or 120mm, that equates to roughly 1m3 of concrete. I used a calculator and it's telling me i need 250kg concrete 400kg sharp sand 800kg of aggregate That's a lot of materials for such a small area is it not?

We have just had a special notice from VOSA about the change in MOT tests at the beginning of this year Clarification that the check for the presence of a catalytic converter only applies to petrol vehicles that qualify for a full catalyst emmisions test regardless of the result of the Basic Emissions test so for most zeds (upto '95 vehicles), as we do not have a full cat test it will be fine to decat & pass the MOT with no problems :)

Been a smoker for the best part of 20 odd years but got told by the hospital that I need to stop or face a future with the potential of losing a leg  due to arterial problems. I'ts a no brainer really. So have given up smoking from today, now that my vap kit has arrived.. I've estimated that I'll save around £5K a year, which can go towards my fishing, fish keeping and the zed. I'm not the sort of person to be smug about it but I have to say that; for the first time in years I don't feel trapped by the cigs and feel free. Didn't really understand the "Choose Freedom" message on fags until now.. :)

Some might of noticed I've hardly been on here for quite a while, work at SFS has been ridiculously busy with shows and staff holidays. Kind of lost my mojo on the cars again and even the garage build has stopped  I have to see the surgeon in 2 weeks as my specialist has said there's nothing he can do for me and the internal reconstructional surgery they did 12 years ago all has to come out and they can't redo it again as I have lost to much of my small bowel as it is. Gutted is an understatement, I'm not sure how I face this as before the reconstruction I had a tempoary fix which I hated and now this will be a permanent thing. I know this seems a little criptic…

As some of you know I bought a manual conversion from a forum member here and arranged a local courier ( quite a big outfit) to lift it under a 48 hour delivery terms of carriage. Pallet was lifted on Wednesday morning for delivery today and they've just emailed me to day the trailer was still in England and they are expecting to get it out to me for delivery on Monday. What a shower of pr--ks. name and shame time BEATTIES FREIGHT NI Ltd. Avoid at all costs ar--ho--s rant over

OK this is nowt to do with Zeds and nowt to do with car ... but this is the off topic area so... I'm getting increasingly interested in CFD trading as a possible way to generate some additional 'fun' money especially seeing as the Zed likes to consume so much of it! One of my customers put me on to this and he makes a good amount from it, spending just a few hours a day Has anyone on here had any experience of CFD trading as a part time 'hobby' (or even as a main income) and if so do you have any useful tips or info? There are lots of companies offering free demos with 'play' money to trade. Are there any good ones (or rogue ones to avoid?). If y…

OMG, started it today, 20min fitness test was the order of the day, i haven't exorcized in a while and thought it was time to do something about the extra pounds, I tend to float between 12 stone and 15 stone, never getting any lighter and never getting any bigger, always between 12 and 15, i have good legs already, but i have a spare tire i wanted to get rid of. its been doing my head in for a while and as im now almost 3 months with out a single real ciggy, eating healthier i thought id give the insanity program a go. Well what can i say, im now aching in area's i didn't know existed. I pushed as hard as i could, just like he says in the DVD's, hopefully my fitness…

I was a well behaved kid so can't remember being grounded before but I was this morning by the medical centre. I crushed my hand on Monday helping a mate jack down his land rover. In the end it was only really my little finger that was damaged, I was carrying (fumbling and dropping if I am honest) a really dense breeze block when I walloped my right hand between it and a wall. I knew it was pretty bad immediately and instantly put a lot of indirect pressure on the finger base and put my hand over my head. Luckily me and my mate are medically trained SAR Boys so treated the wound to a high standard... OR B! Beamo ran and grabbed a tourniquet and some Lo…
