Dev mate, I wasnt saying you bought cheap, you asked for examples of things that happened to other people and I told you i've bought cheap, and ended up paying dear for it in the long run? If the post wasnt about things that have cost and gone wrong like it said, then why bother asking for ppls input if your gonna moan at them? It seems to me you didnt post up asking what had ended up costing time and money but just to have a go at smithy! If you've got issues take it up with the man not drag us into an argument, if there does turn out to be an issue thats for you to take up with the moderators and not on the public forum, unless of course its warning us of rip off merchants or scammers, of which Smithy isnt.

p.s. I've come up with a cheaper way, just strap two long wooden planks to the bottom of the Z :D

The hardware for an air susp kit is actually not much compared to the ice installs most people have ;) I'm still going for air shocks, the yanks are big on that anyway. I can't see how it could have been done any other way without hydrallics or air susp? the fact it was electrically operated by the touch of the button and that it happened istantly instead of being motorised proves that it was a pressured system? Even if there is another device other than these type of shocks, it would still have to off been installed in a similar way from the wishbone to the chasis or it wouldnt have just lifted the front, so their lambos may handle like shit anyway :D Let us know if you find out more!

AFAIK air shock kits are about 500.00 but not many suppliers in this country, as well as the shocks you need to buy the compressor, air tank and all the accessories to go with it which could be about another 500.00 Not sure how long the tanks last tho :(

I got this philosophy, don't buy cheap or it will cost you dear! Although your parts were fine, I've done similar things where I try and do a little something to make it better and something breaks! then you end up thinking oh **** why did I bother! I have heard of a few peeps that have split the rad end cap by tightening to it, ****ing stupid that its plastic IMHO. Smithy, might be worth putting a little paper slip in with the rad hoses saying not to over tighten to the plastic mate, not that it's your prob, but it will probably save people hastling you if it does!! And deve, shit luck matey, how did it cost you that much $$ (if thats what happened) Also when buying bits, you buy them on the cheap and think you save a buck, but it turns out crap, IMHO you always get what you pay for! Worse thing that happened to me, was servicing someones ford, took the plugs out, but they were welded on, anyways after spraying shite on and freeing them, one of them snapped when taking it out, the plug spanner I had did not have the propper rubber in to hold it, when I lifted the socket out, the llug came up too, but then fell out of the socket and the broken part of the plug beat it to the engine. Cost of replacing a spark plug in an onion 1.50 and about 2 mins labour, cost of dropping a part of a broken plug in the engine by using shitty tools priceless lmao, lucky it wasnt a engine like the Z it was only a 1.6, so thankfully, stripping it down only took about a day. I thought I'd learnt me leason but when servicing me honda the other day, yet again I used a socket and not a propper plug one, used one of them maggots as I call it to get the plug out, lifted the plug up pulled it off and the magnet off the end came off the maggot and flew down to the hole where the plug used to be. I shat meself, thought the magnet was long gone in the engine. Luckily it was too big, when I shone a torch in, it was hanging not quite able to get through. Needless to say I wont be using them anymore!!!

The car wont start / go at all without an afm. If the AFM is faulty then it goes into a safety mode which means usualy you cant go over 3000 rpm and it sounds rough as a bag of nails. You should really check the PTU connectors on both sides and the coil packs (im gettin dejavu third time I said this to someone this week lol)

Yup you gotta have a red reflector on the back at least thats the law, I guess some MOT stations are more picky than others. Thats why when you get light tinting kits they usualy include a red reflector incase you havnt got one. Mine arnt tinted, im not that fussed about it TBH but if I did I would mainly just get rid of the orange and make that black cause it looks nasty and leave the red ones on there.

Check the PTU connectors on both sides and coilpacks too matey. Best pull the plugs whilst yur cleaning the coilpacks and take a looksie.

It boils down to whether u r happy or not with it? If you like the drive, the look and feel you have enough power then stick with it, no point in messing around. Just keep it well serviced and maintained and its guaranteed to last longer that one that has been modded. However, if you want to get a little more from your beast and unlock the key to being one of the most feared monsters on the road then have a play ;)
