  1. BTW, i didnt have the throttle pushed all the way, doh!!!! Only just read that, would that affect it?
  2. Went out for a drive and no.1 cylinder burnt off all the oil and was dry. Did a dry compression test on the front 4 cylinders, couldnt be arsed to do that back ones. Not sure if I managed to get the tester tight enough as the metal shaft wasnt long enough, so had to do it up by twisting the rubber hose. Anyway, all the front 4 showed 135psi, which is a bit low isnt it? But atleast they are all consistant so maybe the rings are ok. Didnt do it wet, guess you need some thick oil?
  3. You can get to them easy, i noticed that when I found one of my bolts sheared off and blowing like a bitch!!!!! DOH!!!!!!!
  4. I may just have to go in the skoda. Not sure whats going on with my car.
  5. Yes mate it is. Been down that path though. But the piston was dry after I had topped the oil up, then only after I ran the engine was there oil in there. Ill have to take it out for a drive and try dry that piston out and see if it fills up again.
  6. Not that I really noticed. But my dipstick never seems to give a good reading anyway. Like today I totally drained the sump, wipped dipstick, checked level and said it was full, lmao?!?!?!? Just ran engine again and lots of smoke out one exhaust, same side as dodgy cylinder. Took plug out, still oil on piston, but burning off slowly.
  7. I always use vacuum to suck it through.
  8. Its gotta be rings or valves cause theres no other way oil can get in a piston chamber is there?
  9. It puffs when you change gear and come off boost. but only when boosting hard. not under normal driving. It does it when you stop at lights sometimes. It did it really bad once when i really booted it in first then stopped straight after. It smoked for about 30seconds.
  10. Im at home mate all night, The cat pipes are the only good pipes lol!!!!!!!! Do you have a compression tester??
  11. All fooked, lol. The one from the engine to the cat has three wholes The same one the other side only has two bolts onto engine, third sheared. Whats sh1t is the people who took out the engine to do work never sorted it and just chucked it back on, which I think is wa*k workmanship. The centre boxes inbetween the cat and the back box have a bracket welded between them which is ripped out and causing a blow. Any idea how much all this sh1t will cost to fix??
  12. hmmmmm just odd that its filling with fresh oil and the only thing thats not been done/checked, eventhough it probably should of been when the heads where off, is the valve seals. Doesnt smoke all the time on tick over. But theres def oil coming in and getting burnt off in that no.1 cylinder.
  13. Yea mal, found the leak, a breather hose to PCV valve had come off. Had a compression test done before head gasket was done and that was ok. and the bores where ok. So oil couldnt have come from there. Unless it just wore that much in the last 1000miles. Im wondering if a valve guide seal could be fooked or summint??? Smokes on tick over, did today, and also when coming off boost. Had turbos checked when engine was out and told they were ok and not worth the money to overhaul.
  14. I got one out of yellow pages. Cant remember the name of the company but I know he called himself trailer tim when he answered the phone. He was cheap.
  15. Changed the spark plugs today and found no.1 spark plug covered in oil, fresh oil. Looked down and the piston was dry. Put new spark plug in and ran the engine. Took the spark plug out and the whole lot including piston was covered in fresh oil. Where the fook is that coming from??? Bearing in mind i've had the head gasket done and new pcv valves??
  16. Prob gear lever bushings. Saying that though, mine was floppy, then when the garage did the clutch, maybe they did something as it was spot on after and they didnt chargeme for bushings.
  17. now englands out it should be banned from TV!!!!
  18. Some people on here and taken their cats out and put restrictors in to create back pressure for the turbo seals. Not sure on what they've said on power etc..
  19. Was the pedal really stiff, not much movement? this happens if the brake servo isnt working, like if you pump the pedal with the engine off. It goes really stiff and very hard to stop in that situation. But whats odd is that its working fine now?!?!?!?
  20. cheers mate, ill have a little more of a play over the weekend.
  21. Holy f**king s**t is all I can say. Fooking flying round that track too, then literally. Noticed the red saftey car too......
