  1. Fookin ell, this is sounding like a nightmare. Nothing like when I helped my dad take out his mexico engine! So if I remove the g'box theres no need to drop the crossmember? Who wants to come and help, lol?!?!?!?!
  2. Why do I need to drop the front cross member, I dont really want too if I dont have to as I just payed money to have all the tracking done. Im leaving the box in, so theres no need to touch any of the prop shaft!?! Im lifting on the plenum, so that will be staying in. Is it right that the alternator and p/s pump has to come off and cant come out with the engine?
  3. Any hints/tips that you've all picked up for removing an engine. Obviously I've read TTZD, but just wondered what you lot have learnt. Gonna try do it this weekend coming.
  4. Read that there will be an automatic appeal as its a death penalty and could take months to go through.
  5. No they are sh1te. It would take me a day to explain how sh1te they are. Even when I explained it all, I had to get some of my money back myself!!!!!!!! Barclays suck!!!
  6. Isnt that something to do with the speed sensor?
  7. Is it a 400bhp FWD car? :wack:
  8. I've spent more than that just trying to keep mine going!!!
  9. Ill be there in the Skoda!!! Faster than my car at the moment! lol. MMMMMMMMMMMMmm burger........................
  10. Thanks Andy. i think ill just go for the plenum. Seems easier.
  11. Thats spose to have been done. But like many things that have spose to have been done, not all have. Thats one of the reasons of taking it out. Checking things are done, if not do them. Like you said, bypassing!
  12. Im actually really looking forward to do it.
  13. Taken the car off for over winter. Gonna have the engine out to fix/replace coolant piping on back of engine. Looks like a few of them have gone. A few other jobs I want to do on the engine and other things around the car. So wont be Zed'ing till next year now. Just the tredder and the missus Skoda.

    Yup
  15. I think I prefered the look of the orange one. But the spec seems a lot better on your new one. Why did you go for another 200? I thought you'd be going for something totally different? And those two birds in the first pic :hurl:
  16. I'd have one of those!
  17. Im leaving the box in. Thanks.
  18. I've used that just to hold the engine, but not to lift it. Didnt know if I should trust it. But if thats ok thats what ill do!! Cheers!
  19. I cant see the bolt holes on the side of the engine to bolt brackets onto for chains. Am I blind!?!??
  20. My new ones. Red-black 5.4 and 5.3 on my two. All others are open

Engine oil, you decide! Gearbox - If crunchy use MT-90, if not use Silkolene Syn5 75w-90 as its less harsh on the synchro than the MT-90. Dif - Silkolene Syn5 75w-90
  22. Ill try remember to do it tomorrow!!!
