how do the turbos work on a 300zx??
They work together, two smaller ones to help spin up faster (less lag) White smoke out of exhuast on idle after a good blast! I also had it on gear changes too.

It was, but now I have taken it apart it isnt. I've worked it out a 2994cc. Not the stated 3100. (2960 standard) Greg, used digital vernier caliper to measure. Obviously a bore gauge would be better, but its def 87.5mm bores. So it looks like they are JE pistons. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding on the crank, maybe it was ground a bit to balance only.

Just measured the head gasket too. Its 1.2mm. Is this thicker than the stock size? I was told it was which is why theres a slight drop in compression. 150 on all 6.

Who has sat nav and
I got a TOM TOM and I dont like it. Its never taken me to where I put in I want to go EVER! I always have to do the last bit myself. Its weird on some motorways too. Tells you to go into the right hand lane when your carrying straight on and other weird things.

I wasnt planning on a rebuild cause it was all spose to have been done 15k ago. I was just checking it out cause when I changed the oil pump the crank didnt look like it was spose to, knife edged. Had to have the engine out to fix some coolant pipes, so I thought id check out wether the pistons have been done too. Are we all happy that they are JE forged pistons, or will I have to take it all apart further to be doubly sure??!?!?!?!

I've only taken the heads off and sump. I was hoping it was going to be what I bought it was, but sadly doesnt look like it so far. Looks more like they just dropped another lump in. What do you want pics of? Will he tops of the pistons tell anything? Could you have normal size forged piston? or would they always be bigger. When I start the engine I get a slight knocking till its warmed up, told its cause of forged pistons. Looks like a metal head gasket too. Its def had some work done to it, but not what it was sold to me as.- Internals of my engine

Its spose to be a 3.1ltr With: JE pistons Knife edge crank Carillo rods Here are some pics of the crank. Not really knife edge is it?!?! I've also measured the piston bore and its 87.4mm. Would that make it a 3.1ltr? I've had a look at the online manual but cant work out the standard piston size. Not sure on the rods. They are still in. Wasnt planning on taking them out.- Oil Problems

I have a boost controller so im ok there. I dont have aftermarket cam pulleys. Thats the bit the belt runs on right? But one of them deffiantely has the wires chopped and not connected. Cant remember if the other was plugged in or not off the top of my head. How will this effect the running of the car?- Identify two things please
These two are on the back of the cam shafts. Ones disconnected one has a plug plugged in? This one in on the side plenum support brackets. Neither are connected so I guess I can do away with them. Just wondered what they did? Thanks. Sorry for shit photos. Camera cant do close focus and flash at the same time.- When I took the gearbox off
