  1. Are you sure the power supply isn't there for the laptop? I had hardwired it in to the cigar lighter supply. It was only a universal thing anyway... cost all of about £12. All the best ;)
  2. I resent that! Those knock off rolexes would have been fine for days that didn't have a 12o'clock! Do you wanna buy a self inflating sheep? There's just no demand for them east of the border :(
  3. He couldn't face life without his zed anymore and topped himself  Well done on tracking me down Chris. Oh and I'm an office manager at a wholesale bakery about 2.5 miles off the A5 but that's pretty darned close Jack :) How the hell did you come by that bit of info??? Hey Mark. Hope you and family are all well.
  4. This same disscussion came up on Scoobynet earlier in the week. Removing recirc/dv will give you compressor stall which gives you that twittering sound like the rally cars have. Rally cars do not run recirc/Dv but most road cars do (those that don't have other means of dealing with surplus pressure)... This is because rally car engines are not designed with an inteded 100k+ mile lifespan, road cars are. You will eventually knacker your turbos by running this way. How much sooner, who knows.
  5. I wouldn't waste my time with Adrian Flux. They decided they didn't want my business when i down-graded to an impreza, refused point blank to insure me. A-Plan just sorted me out for over £100 less than the zed was costing me through Flux, which makes me wonder... did I pay too much to insure the Zed through Flux??!!
  6. Supra is a better built car, no question. I personally found the Supra just as nice a drive as my zed - having said that i also feel that the tein set-uo ruined my last zed!!!! GT-R has the added bonus of being usefull when it rains, as it does at least 150 days of the year, thanks to very fancy 4WD system.
  7. Wow my old car causing controversy!!! I see where you're comming from wayne - even if she wasn't for you she's given you the bug I see. If i had you're income I would probably do exactly the same. To own a zed you need much deeper pockets than i have. 2 intercoolers, 2 turbos, 2 throttlebodies, 2 cylynderheads packaged so tightly is obviously going to cripple you if the worst comes to the worst. The one thing I've learnt now having had 3 zeds is that if you're on a moddest income and you want something to tune - only an idiot like myself buys a zed (3 times :headvswal!!!) So i'm gonna try my luck with a Skyline GTST (flame-on!!!). Not as visually dramatic, but not an awfull lot slower and a damn site easier and cheeper to maintain and tune. All the best to Wayne and whoever takes on my old zed - maybe no show car, but she was way above the average zed sheds that seem to outnumber the good ones around these days.
  8. No problem will try and get down to see the wrinklies this weekend and enquire for you. Dave
  9. Never had a problem with the brakes - in fact, much improved after upgrading. Zeds are known for not having the greatest brakes. One job i didn't get around to was bleeding and replacing the brake fluid - might be worth a go. The aluminum bezel is removable - simply stuck on with double sided pads if you want to remove. As for the arches - might be worth looking into wide arse kits. :)
  10. :smash: If i could make just a little suggestion... Get hold of a set of cloth seats and re-trim them, then atleast you've still got a pretty damn good condition set of original leathers to put back in if you screw it up. I 'm not 100% but i think the cloth seats for your car may still be in my dads lock-up
  11. All of a suddern I've gone totaly blank on the bulb thing... :( I can't say 100% if i changed the headlamp bulbs on this car or one of my previous Zeds - That could be the case as my previous Zed was a UK so i wouldnt have had this problem :wack: As for the button in the glovebox.... That fires the M3 seeking missiles hidden behind the fog lamps  You have email :)
  12. Yo! I changed the wipers not long after getting the car. Just took the old ones off and walked into the shop to compare. I bought the same size as the ones that came off as I knew one was bigger than the other but the book said they were 2 of the same (which had to be wrong as the parking space in the scuttle allows for one longer blade than the other IIRC). I'm pretty sure I did the same with the bulbs.... I've learnt not to trust those books. Dave
  13. Ir was great to meet you and your Mrs, Wayne. I'm sorry I kept you so long but i had to be sure she was going to a good home :) All the best Dave
  14. How cool. I just found an oppening for a cock sucker in the firm!! Oh doh! we already have one and he pays my salary :(
  15. cool. As soon as this man-flu clears up, i'm gonna do that.
  16. Is that safe? I did think of that but then i thought there must be a reason that the 2 wastegates have their own vacuum pick-ups. If thats the case, i have a cunning plan :)
  17. The only thing that worries me with Manual boost controllers is that, don't you need 2 of them? how can you be sure they are both set the same?
  18. Just an afterthought but isn't the wastegate itself a pressure regulator of sorts? been reading up about pressure regulators not opening until a certain pressure is reached so to keep the wastegate shut for longer and make the turbos spool up quicker but then thats what a wastegate does by design, right? Do zeds suffer from "wastegate creep"? I'm exhausted :(
  19. http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_0670/article.html Found that and although it's on an Audi (cough, spit) it kinda makes sense. I recently put tips in my w/g lines but something isn't 100%. I think i'm getting spikes as most of the time it boosts to 14psi but some times it'll hit 16 and then it feels like the clutch is slipping :( Might also have a slight leak where i've cut and inserted the jets but need to look into that some more. So now considering the merits of jets to reduce pressure in the w/g lines against bleed off some of the pressure, both results in less pressure reaching the w/g so higher boost. (and i know that everyone rants about the virtues of EBC's but 1. they're too expensive and 2. I don't have space on the dash and 3. they're too fiddly) Anyhow, thought the info in the link may be of interest.
  20. wow 700+ guitars and one trumpet!!??
  21. Can you please contact me at dave@caegroes.co.uk Interested in your shocks but can't contact you as i let my subscription lapse.
  22. I've got an RG170 and thats got more balls than the washburn N1 I bought earlier this year (poor mans equivalent at less than £100!!) but it is such an easy guitar to play by comparison.... If you're into choppy funky stuff

  24. OOOOHH tasty!!! I'm saving for JS series or a Washburn N4 myself :)
  25. That looks like a decent enough one to me. I can't for the life of me see any reason this would not work on an auto. Good luck with the install :)
