  1. Although I like to be helpful so I’ve done your wheels in black for you:
  2. If you paint your wheels black I’m leaving the club and joining a club for country dancing.
  3. I noticed that the grey plastic housing on my relatively new fog lamp lens were beginning to discolour inside the unit. This has not been caused by heat because there are no fog lamps installed and the side lights are LED emitting little heat, so I can only assume it’s been caused by UV. Nevertheless I decided to spruce them up a little: Before: After:
  4. My old ‘93 UK TT is for sale quite cheap apparently, would make a nice base to rebuild.
  5. Andrew isn’t that the part number for the 2+2 spoiler?
  6. Welcome to the club Dave, look forward to meeting you and your fine looking machine. Your car will be in safe hands with James so you made a great decision there, but I have to mirror the sentiments of the others here about sourcing an OEM and moving on your FG copy. Out of curiosity, why are you looking to poly bush the car? Although they can sharpen up the handling nicely, they will also sharpen up the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) and dull down that luxury feel that Nissan designed into it. Poly bushes, especially on the rear axle, tend to make the ride crashy, especially when paired up with lowered suspension and aftermarket wheels with lower profile tyres. Nevertheless, you probably have the lowest mileage car in the club, in the country and probably in the top (bottom?) 5 in the world! [emoji41]
  7. I feel your pain Tom, I’ve been bitten by rogue traders in the the Z community myself. Thanks for shining a light on the issue, although I have no experience of Lee working on my car. I have in the past tried to purchase a chip from him for my old 555cc injectors but gave up due to lousy communications! My Z remains one of Jimmer’s many successful projects on his portfolio and long may it continue. [emoji41]
  8. A trip to north wales sounds great, let’s make it a national meet. Welcome to the club Ashley [emoji41]
  9. I blocked mine with clay when I realised the drain tube had become detached down below to stop any further leakage into the cabin. It was only for a short term (damage control) until I got round to rectifying the problem but I rarely use the car in the rain anyway as my car melts when it gets wet. Why do you want to clock them off, dude? [emoji6]
  10. Very good time Stephen, well done [emoji106]
  11. Nice work Gary, make sure you get a sealant on those inside and out and the dirt will fall off them next time you clean them [emoji41]
  12. Just seen this, best of luck for tomorrow Stephen, break a leg! [emoji1322] I don’t like the term “half” marathon as it dulls down the achievement in my opinion. It’s not half of anything, it’s a tough run of its own and hats off to you for giving it a stab. My wife is running a 10 mile race tomorrow so I’ll be giving you a virtual cheer from sunny Essex when cheering them lot! I’ve run a couple of half marathons myself now and have always said I’d never run any further. However, having been bullied by the wife to apply for the London marathon ballot, I conceded and entered knowing that the odds were in my favour of not getting in! But wouldn’t ya know it, I only got bloody accepted didn’t I, doh! I guess if there’s a punishing marathon that’s worth enduring, London must be up there? Good luck dude [emoji41]
  13. I’m after a red OEM reflector side marker from a JDM rear bumper please. I only require the left hand (nearside) reflector, must be in good condition. CheerZ Joel.
  14. Happy Birthday Nick, fingers crossed the Birthday Bunny will bring you gifts today! ?
  15. C’mon Tom, where’s tut edited oot spins offs on tut grass?
  16. Welcome back matey, look forwards to reading your stories again. [emoji106]
  17. I love that car too, very well executed and even better in person. However I still don’t believe it’s quite the right stage to display it and would be much better received at a show geared towards modified vehicles. That said, I also don’t think Simon or my own Z are perfectly suitable for the same reasons. In my opinion the NEC display is crying out for an immaculate bone stock car (at least aesthetically), but unfortunately the stock wheels will not fit over my Brembos and my rear spoiler technically rules me out! I will however do my very best to have the car looking as good as possible for the show and it’s now on lock down in the garage for a full 7 million step paint correction/detail program! Thank you very much to everyone that voted and double thanks to those that voted for myself; I’m honoured to think the car is appreciated with all the work that has gone into it over the last 10 years. Simon and I will happily fly the flag for the marque and will hopefully continue to generate an interest in the club and the cars we love. [emoji41]
  18. There is a font that is remarkably close which was found by AndrewG but there are some minor differences so a bit of both really. When I say by hand, I really mean, by hand on mouse! I’ve never seen an original one personally and I prefer the black background which I don’t think was ever used (maybe I’m wrong on that?). Also, these plates are quite different to how the originals would be due to the layered construction of perspex on top of aluminium to give some depth.
  19. It was my intention to use quick release fasteners but I haven’t removed the bumper since to install the receptacles, so yes, as it is it’s a screwdriver job. To be fair, I don’t have to get the screwdriver out very often! [emoji56]
  20. I made an L shaped Aluminium bracket that mounts on 3 of the fastener holes that are used to secure the grille behind the upper inlet. The fasteners go in from underneath at the back of the lower inlet (see pic):
  21. Some may have noticed at shows I tend to install a show plate as I think it looks nicer without a registration and also more universal. I have also been known to take the Z out for a random drive to find a nice location for photos (yes I am a loser) and I normally carry a show plate in my boot. I’ve had a few different variants of the plate over the years: Recently I have recently been working on a new one. I’ve replicated the plate from the marketing photos used for the 99 spec cars (with a few choice scale changes). I haven’t made the final pieces yet but the prototypes are looking pretty good. The jury is still out on the colour but I’m a fan of the black background with white text. I’m also considering a front show plate although I wasn’t a fan of the first revision of that I tried (see pic below), so I’m experimenting with a white one at the front with black text (probably a smaller size). I don’t normally display a plate on the front during shows: Does anyone else have something similar? I know Baz has his Fairlady Z plate on his 99 front end which looks cool. [emoji41]
  22. Happy Birthday Steve [emoji106]
  23. Result, tuck into a multipack box of Jaffa Cakes!
  24. Jayjay, you dropped your pen dude.
