  1. As an investment, I still think a mint UK car is likely to command the highest price. Our new member Evoblade, with his 10k UK car has, what I think will be one of the countries most sought after and valuable cars in the country. I also believe that using one as a daily drive will damage the investment opportunity.
  2. It takes 2 minutes to de-pin the connector, why on earth would you cut it and have awful soldered joints in the line?
  3. My phone asked me if I wanted to see a video of my trip to the NEC at the weekend, the results were pretty good. I chopped out some of the unrelated photos but other than that, a pretty cool video! It’s only really our Zeds in the vid as that’s pretty much all I took pics of(!), the Boss Mustang belongs to a very good friend of mine and snuck it’s way into the video!:
  4. Did you mechanic mention which part seemed knackered? The plastic attaching cam from the lock barrel to the control input rod is a common failure item and when it breaks, the barrel will just spin inside it’s housing without unlocking or locking the car.
  5. She is a beauty [emoji106]
  6. Welcome to the club. Looking forward to seeing this car, you’re also fortunate to be located fairly close to the UKs top specialist and club trader, PowerZed.
  7. Piiiiiiiics! Welcome to the club [emoji106]
  8. Looks like a tidy car, welcome to the club matey, fingers crossed its as good as it looks for you.
  9. I met the organiser of this show at the NEC over the weekend, it sounds like it could be a great day out. I think the club needs to push this as a big national event next year, count me in Ian. Get your names down people. [emoji41]
  10. I took my Z out today and blatted it around some quiet country lanes for no apparent reason! I was going to stop somewhere nice and take some pictures but I was too engrossed in boost to stop!
  11. Haha, no Ugandans this year; that bloke was awesome though, what a character!
  12. My series 2 also has them factory fit, curb lights.
  13. Negative, I just wanted to reconnect my tweeter following the omission of that particular step when replacing the door handle! The drive to the NEC was like I was deaf in one ear so I wanted to make the drive home more balanced!
  14. Nice to meet you Clint and your reaction when you bumped into the stand completely oblivious to our presence was priceless! Look forward to seeing the progress of your Zed(s) [emoji41] [emoji848] he’s about your height too.
  15. It seems that every year, the odd person comes onto the stand and tries to tempt me with a “genuine on the spot offer”! This year a chap (who actually checks out to be a fairly successful businessman!), came on and offered me 20k for the car. Last year I think the highest was 16 so the values are going up  Apparently I have until Christmas to decide but as I told the guy, it’s not for sale.
  16. Unscheduled maintenance!
  17. Looks like a decent car. Listening to the “chatter” at the Classic Motor Show over this weekend, it must sell because everyone wants to buy a 300ZX, many not believing me when I say you purchase one for sub 20k! It seems now that every year, someone pushes the desirable button in a bit further on these cars and they jump up a notch. I’ve never really been too bothered about the values of these cars, it’s just been a nice to know but nevertheless, I’m now convinced that we aren’t far away from being swept along in this bubble of desirability and I also believe that a UK car (particularly a manual) will be the one that commands the biggest price tag.
  18. If you ask me, the hall which houses predominantly club stands (of which we have always been in) is probably the most interesting of all the halls at the show and it’s great to see the different efforts from various clubs on how they present and sell themselves. Plenty more ideas generated for future improvements for us as a club and the cogs are already turning in my head!
  19. I was discussing this with the organiser of the Supra club stand, apparently the event organiser for this particular event (Alison is it?) was put in a tricky situation when she was informed late on that the pavilion had been sold on a lease for 25years and that they could no longer use it for this show! It does explain why so many clubs got knocked back and Due to the downscaling of space available I consider us very lucky to get the stand we did. I guess this pattern will continue into the following years unless the can secure more space.
  20. Dave, I’m gutted to hear that health issues are troubling you again, I noticed you had been quiet lately and it was a shame not to see you at the show, as Craig said you were missed and I wish you the very best of health my friend.
  21. I simply prefer the look of the car with the targas installed, I like the unbroken line of red being carried over to the tailgate. I very rarely remove my targas if I’m honest, normally only when the kids are in it with me as they love it with the open sky! Plus the fact that my boot was full!
  22. For those that didn’t get a chance to visit, this was 1 of the 5 halls at the show and you might just be about to spot the relatively small 300zx owners club stand: And here is a quick walk round of the 2 cars on display before the hordes ascended this morning!:
  23. An absolutely indescribable experience, I can’t thank everyone enough for the votes that gave me the opportunity to exhibit the car on what feels like a world stage, pretty much a pinnacle of all shows. It was a pleasure meeting all the club members that visited the stand and thanks to everyone that gave their support over the weekend. Gutted that Simon didn’t make it as my right hand man for the weekend and it must be awful for him to miss out on the show knowing how utterly superb his Z is looking, but it was great to get Craig’s car looking mighty fine and doing the stand proud. I met so many amazing people, I had a blast from the past with a friend of Howard’s (made my day that [emoji106]) and to top it all off I got to share the experience with a very close friend of mine who was exhibiting a ‘69 Mach1 Mustang [emoji41] The drive home was awesome, I had a big smile on my face the whole trip home still buzzing from the show and reinforced with 16psi of boost, the car feels unreal, what a machine! So glad to have forged more memories with what I consider a very special Z as part of a great club. Thanks everyone. #notforsale
