  1. He’s won the 2017 World Championships four times? [emoji13]
  2. Yes they’re a club trader and I have been insured with them for the last 3 years!
  3. Nice day for it lads [emoji41]
  4. I feel I’m missing out here, I’ve been to Jimmer’s several times and I don’t think I’ve experienced the deadly breakfast stick [emoji848]
  5. Although it makes polishing that area much easier, it wasn’t by choice unfortunately Ali! I’ve had an issue with the paint around the lock barrel and one area had developed into a chip that I decided to touch up a few weeks back. I masked off the little black lock barrel ring to try and avoid getting paint on it, but when I peeled the tape back off it took a big chunk of paint with it, doh! The handle came out to go to the paint shop which was an annoyance really as it’s one of my least favourite jobs on the car! I picked it back up from the painters yesterday actually so need to contend with those lovely rod hooks once again when I get a chance!
  6. A bit more polishing and made Simon’s front show plate for the NEC...
  7. They painted them in the straight position as pictured at my request, it cost £10.
  8. Yes, the same images I’d say.
  9. Do you have a “Z out” and a “Z in” tray on your drive for cars in and out of the Jimmer queue?! ?
  10. It looks similar to the image that I’ve used for a show plinth for the NEC: Although I couldn’t resist but adapt it and it’s slowly morphing into my own JDM car (unfinished)! The text is very generic and very much from the early 90’s, I should change it really!
  11. The resolution doesn’t quite let me read the text, more pics [emoji41]
  12. Loving the poster in the background there Gary, the one with the red Z side and top views [emoji41] Is that a SWB?
  13. I’m often asked by friends and neighbours why I polish such a clean car! The videos show why; this is a years worth of meticulous cleaning technique to minimise swirls and my wash routine is annoyingly anal! The pic below was taken before I fired up the polisher but the car had been washed a few weeks ago and clayed just before the pic. Admittedly the paint looks pretty clean, but using the right light source, the video shows how more shine can be extracted by removing the fine swirls on the surface: People often ask what wax or detailer I use on the car to make it shine, but the reality is that it’s the polishing out and removal of defects that create the shine, not anything that is put on top. Products with heavy fillers can improve some finishes but they are far from perfect and just mask the defects temporarily, whereas a machine polish and making the top coat perfectly flat is the way to go to make the shine. Waxes and sealants can then be used to protect it and can (to some extent) make subtle changes to the type of shine produced. One car I’ve been looking forward to transforming on here is Andrew’s lovely blue UK car as with a good level of pampering, the colour on that car is amazing and I think the paint will really pop! What was supposed to be a job to prepare the car for this summer is seemingly going to be a winter project (for next summer!).
  14. I also managed to dedicate some time towards the super mega detail and got a few panels done on the first cut. Clock is ticking for the NEC show so operation liquid paint is in full swing! I don’t know why I put pictures up as in this light it looks no different then it did before!! For those that are interested, I use a DAS6 Pro polisher, Lake Country CCS pads (mostly), Scholl S20 Black compound for the first cut on a light cutting pad and Scholl S40 polish on a finessing pad to smooth it over. When the whole car is finished, I’ll seal it twice, then wax it and on the day of the show after being washed and detailed from the journey, it’ll be wearing an Auto Finesse glaze.
  15. They are satin black, the pic is deceiving:
  16. I have no idea, I just ran it down to my local power coaters and let them take care of them!
  17. Spruced up the wiper arms, a job I’ve been meaning to do for about 7 years, better than new now!
  18. That’s a very good price Richard - with prices like that you can see just why everyone should use the top class service from PowerZed [emoji41] How long ago was this out of curiosity? I’m not sure there are many RHD Z heater matrix left with the big suppliers over the pond and the prices in the UK seem to be rising by the hour!
  19. These are quite expensive from Nissan once you’ve added them all up, but I gave some cheap ones a try from eBay a while back and they’re identical! I’d go as far to say that they came off the same production line comparing them to the items from Nissan bags. I’ve put a link to the first link I found on eBay as I cannot remember the actual seller I bought mine from but I’m sure they’ll all be the same: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F222165774341
  20. You may be able to get a new one: http://www.allcarpartsfast.co.uk/nissan/nissan-b714040p00-core-assy-heate/ Or you could just buy the whole assembly which is very cheap! http://www.allcarpartsfast.co.uk/nissan/nissan-2710041p00-heater-unit/
  21. Hats off to you Jim [emoji106]
