  1. indeed mate, that is carbon fibre in its original form, as im sure you know, resin is added to the cloth to form the solid type we all know... the only reason i asked was from AndyP's post...
  2. i thought they were real carbon fibre shunter?
  3. Y0U MUPPET! Y0UVE RUINED IT!!
  4. a very good question and another anooying little thing about my zed... il check the headunit settings!
  5. some1 on the forum has in there sig... 'if you need your a/c regassing, im your man'... cant remember who though lol!
  6. lol, i think hes basically saying that the uk spec plug doesnt have enough terminals/wires to supply the folding mirrors... so you would need at least the plugs to fit into a jspec mirror and j spec switch and feed a wire separately (id say that would be the easiest option) or you find a complete loom with the correct plugs already on and fit that! so, find yourself a breaking jspec... > buy the mirrors and kindly ask them to cut off the plug (with some excess wire for soldering) > buy the switch unit (same again with the plug/wires) > buy some wire to retrofit a loom to solder onto the switch and mirror. haynes manual 3 spanners for the pita of strip out!
  7. lol indeed, we looked at gettin her a KAZ plate a few years back when they were still 2/300 quid but because she only had a crap car she wasnt interested... DOH!
  8. its in that awkward series 3/4 bracket... id say it should be worth around 5500 for its year and mileage if its a very good example... however, because there are so many older variants (series 1/2's) available for peanuts which are essentially the same car its always going to be harder to sell a model such as yours. very much depends on whether you are after a quick sale or if your prepared to wait as there is always some1 out there looking for just the car your selling! if it was manual i think youd stand a much better chance of getting whatever you ask for it... this is all IMO so dont take it as gospel, im sure many peeps will disagree and maybe agree but at the end of the day its only worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it but dont give it away :) HTH Joel
  9.  nicely done there dave, we can secretly talk to each other without people knowing... who shall we talk about first?
  10. id say sensibly about 5/600 bucks so were limited to whats available not what we want :(
  11. 4 posts on the forum and hes already got the bug! welcome to the club buddy ;)
  12. you can buy all of your spares from mjp in the traders section of the forum. i would recommend changing the cambelt as good practice as the price of a new belt compared to the price of an engine rebuild... need i say more! as for the turbo... its time to part with 20squid and subscribe... then post up in the 'items wanted' section... im sure somebody will be of service to you :)
  13. indian_zx... do you own a zx?
  14. yea i agree tbh, the more i look at it the worse it looks!
  15. her middle name is louise and i sometimes call her KAZZY-LOU... i just applied for the auction of the reg... K422Y LU... its unassigned but they said once applied for they have to put it up for auction!

a friend from the SXOC who lives local is just finishing an engine build on his 200... he says he will be up for it if its finished in time :)
  18. Looking at gettin the mrs a private reg for her subaru... we looked at all the S600OBY and variations like that but decided she wanted one that she could use on any car... Her name is karen but is often called Kaz, Kazza, Kazzy etc... so the first obvious choice would be to go for an irish plate starting with KAZ, but the 4 number would always be random and we can never find one with 4 numbers that mean something like birth day/month/year etc. Having a browse on the dvla webby i found this 1... i think its pretty cool but im not sure whether a KAZ with 4 random numbers would be better. I like the way on the above reg that every latter number is part of the personalisation if you catch my drift?! Does any1 have any other ideas of registrations that would be appropriate for her? Joel.
  19. good job... how much did that set you back bud?
  20. in all fairness to ebay... that could have happened in any private sale... though i agree you do get a lot of crap on ebay, i think its only natural to see a lot of crap due to the sheer mass of the market... and sh!t sticks! though iv had plenty of bargains off ebay and some top quality stuff, so il be still using it regularly. with it being a very cheap way to advertise also would prolly contribute to the amount of 'ripping off' thats done :) :headvswal @ your case though bud, if he later admitted that he knew it was in there and thats why he sold it, he needs a good pasting!
  21. fair point, but he was referring to oil in the intercooler pipework :) just making sure he was aware that they crossed over
  22. unless your inspector gadget with some special and rather odd tooling, you cant change both tubs with engine in :(
  23. take a look at your plenum bud... from the nearside tub it goes to the nearside intercooler, then in the nearside of the plenum, BUT, the design of the plenum is that the inlets cross over into the opposite bank (offside)... therefore, if your neasid tub is buggered, your offside would smoke first :) btw.... 100 psi is very low on the compression chap
