  1. did you just want the "you're", or does the structure of the sentence need revising?
  2. suppose its about time i 'popped the question' been 8 years now so im practically married to the ~**~" anyway!
  3. not big ones atm matey :( just little a320's.. have i lost all respect?
  4. a very fair comment tbh bri... heres my take and why i went for a car-pc though... i wanted all my 100+gb of music from my pc, in my car on tap without having to burn a million cds. back when i got my setup ipods were very expensive as were headunits that would take an ipod connection... so i decided to trial out the pc route. i now have what i wanted with a few handy extras! i have sat nav, so when the mrs has fooked off with the tom tom, its ney bother... i have live datascan, maybe a bit gimmicky but nevertheless handy... i have hands free connection to my phone... i could have a reversing cam... and i have all my music as mentioned but am able to watch a film if stuck in traffic or queuing for a boat :wack: the possibilities are endless though... i also have a snes and playstation emulator, just in case! i do have internet access on it but i generally dont use it... the only reason its there is to update and activate programs. saying that, if i ever get rid of this setup, i very much doubt id have it again. the pc route does have serious drawbacks :( there is a distinct lack of supported good quality radio available that will work @ any speed above 2mph lol... it works out very expensive as you pay a premium for all the gear that a much lesser priced headunit will do just as well, you also have to amp every speaker from the soundcard... a pc setup is introducing the wonderful world of windows into your car which will always have reliability issues... then comes the time factor, i have spent countless hours setting up, tweaking, hacking :wack: researching, clicking, photoshopping, pressing keys and generally being geeky :smw: if you wanna spend alot of money on a sound system just get yourself a full alpine f1 setup with focal speakers..

  6. bugger hope it all goes ok chap... if its any concellation, mine passed :p
  7. taking mine to get it done in a mo too
  8. can you not replace the oem oil pressure sender?
  9. pm me your words of wisdom too dave... id like some advice from the original car pc guru!
  10. bit excessive just for an mot though? get it mot'd at any local trusted firm... hellraiser will prolly point you in the right direction being a local (i used to get mine done on an industrial estate in ferndown)... if anything major needs doing to it, jimmers ya man...
  11. i wouldnt trust it enough to not put the pulley covers back on though?
  12. iv got the data display page embedded nicely in CF but it just pops on top of CF when intially opening CF then embeds once data display is slected... a viable work around until the next release as you say. im going for a linitx 8" and as im aware there are no 8" transreflective screens available? at least not for a sensible price tag! it is indeed a space navigator... with integration of hotkeys in CF it works a dream. i already have it up and running and i reckon its one of the best editions to the setup so far...
  13. il do a little worklog when i get a chance with a load of pics... iv gotta remake the centre console for a new screen though as mine gave up the ghost a few weeks back :( im fitting a screen from a different manufacturer as the one i had in before is renoun for unreliability. iv just made a custom plate for the ashtray hole in the centre console (where the ashtray lives) to install my idrive style control input. i can now control most of the functions without having to lean forward to the touchscreen...
  14. iv had my car pc operational in the zed for nearly 2 years now dan so if you need any advice or help with owt just give us a shout. btw, an 8" touchscreen fits in the centre console and looks better than a 7 ;)
  15. i am looking at 19" volk te37... i have always liked the style of wheel and have lusted after these puppies for some time. my ideal combo would be a white swb with these girlies in white but i dont really wanna commit to such an expensive repaint. i remember a few years back a video titled dream driveway or something where a back street was filmed with all sorts of exotic jap cars... one of them was a red 300zx with tasty white wheels on. i kinda liked it... but kinda didnt too  the te37's are available in black white and bronze... out of those options the white would be my first choice. also, i really liked the red 200sx from z009 with the white rotas on: i think with no ott styling and a nice vivid red... it actually looks very unique... doesnt it? i didnt expect si to approve as he is very set with a particular taste/style, which i very much like myself, though i do have a wild side that ruins any rational thought and makes me want to do odd things like putting white wheels on a red car! also, that corsa would look awful no matter what colour you painted it. if done with clean styling and the right wheels, i think a zed can look good with any colour combination.
  16. would you think im a twit? big white wheel fan but not keen on the combo with red...
  17. might wanna replace that icooler? or just for test fitment?
  18. lucky lucky! so do we need a ticket or something to get in?
  19. i think danny@dta sells them? stick a thread up in his traders forum to enquire
  20. your better off just getting an aftermarket hid conversion and saving ya cash for when i breaks down :p if you want it to look like the 99 spec ones you can buy the inserts
  21. all of the dates for the halfway house monthly meet are in this thread in the south east meets section. though there is always something happening somewhere so check out that section. the weekend after you are expecting your car back is the z009 weekend.. will prolly be the biggest meet of the year...
  22. lol.. the cat was polishing with its tail after the irobot hoovered!
