  5. c-mon now bri-an itss o-kayy... its bank holiday so lets go to your faaaavourite orange shop to get a little treat foor yoou young maaan? and dont wor-ry, the doors are auto-matic, that means they work on there oownnn... if you're really luc-ky we could take your friend murt (then again hes only 12 so outside of your bracket?), i will just put up with his lower class of greatness compared to me! when we get hope we can play some drum and bass really loud yeaaah? gooood boooy!.. then again **** it, im gonna have a beer so you can get fcuked, take yourself out i dont wanna know. talking of getting fcuked, wheres the wench! :ban:

  8. you'll need to flare the arches to fit them old girls!
  9. i too really enjoyed that convo... a good and thorough execution of investigation, research and clarity!
  10. change your courier! the nearest depot for the courier you use is about a 72 hour drive from me and 90% of the time im out when the the courier delivers... i was on your site today to order some silko but thought bugger it and paid a few quid extra from a seller on ebay who used royal mail. my postie normally leaves my stuff in a nice place or if not the royal mail pick up points are always local. just my criticism, not sure if its appropriate for this thread but hopefully seen in a nice light and constructive.
  11. very nice chap.. you got any more of the whole car? looks like a beaut...
  12. have you plumbed in an after market temperature gauge as the oem setup doesnt display oil temp...
  13. cool, he prolly knows her then. we've had a fair while to get used to it since the hr1 was raised, kaz has got a date but i am just plodding along day by day not knowing when i'm down the road. it's my 3rd redundancy in 10 years so we are experts now lol! the industry is in tatters on the heavy maintenance side atm as the airlines can get it done so much cheaper overseas. if some1 does take over the diamond i think it'll be after we have all gone.
  14. yeah dublin has already 'closed' (ish) and srt stansted is currently being prepared for asset stripping. srt zurich is up next starting early next year im told. adat is mubadalas original foothold and they bought the biggest competitor srt... then shut them down LOL! most people have already been made redundant from srt stansted but a few office staff (including my mrs, double redundancy DOH!) are still there doing handovers and a small team of 30 nightshift hangar staff including myself are there due to a complication with an easyjet contract. basically until easyjet find an alternative base to carry out the work we will still be there, who knows when/where, if you find out let me know ;) alanz works over the road at 'inflight' and rumour has it they have been in negotiations with easyjet to take on the work, easytech @ luton are building a new 2 bay hangar which could take on some of the work but that will take time. companies already doing work for easyjet are klm norwich, atc southend and virgin at gatwick but they are all too full to take on the extra work. hopefully some1 will step up and take over the diamond hangar as stansted is a key location airport for an investor and can fit 6 a320/737 or 2 of the new 787's (:cool2:). when srt announced they are leaving to the baa they were told that they had to pay off the 65 year contract @ 6million a year and level the plot! the baa obviously know that because the diamond hangar was built for architectural awards rather than practicality that no fooker wants to take it over cause itsa useless shape/design!
  15. SRT are owned by mubadala!
  16. nothing so far, we had to do scrapings on the fan blades (big 1st stage blades at the front) and one A319 had a thick coating on but i haven't yet seen the analysis results. the hydraulic systems have a 50psi header pressure to stop the pumps from cavitating. this header pressure is taken from engine bleed air so would eventually build up ash deposits in the systems. similarly, the potable water tanks are pressurised from engine bleed air, the engines main shaft bearings are an air/oil labyrinth seal so another risk of contamination. the avionics cooling air is taken from the side of the fuselage through several filters so they needed to be analysed also. if that filter clogs, the hundreds of computers would have the effect of your cpu fan stopping, overheat, shut down... rapid descent lol! the pitot and static ports have shown some evidence of build up even in such short exposure to the ash as have the surfaces of antennas. this list goes on but i'll stop wibbling now as the northerners in the back row have all fallen asleep!
  17. i was gonna say it'll prolly put me out of a job but i'll be out of a job soon anyway as my company is fooking off out of the uk (DOH)! then again since the last ash cloud we have been fookin busy, not just the catch up on passengers backlog but post ash flight inspections are taking so much time... full video boroscope on the engines, every conceivable filter is being removed and sent away for analysis, fluid samples from fuel/hydraulics/potable water/engine oils taken for analysis, all this on top of the standard maintenance schedule. the company 'spectro' that supply our sample jars must be rolling in it now! if this does happen it will be interesting to see what reaction the aviation industry has to offer. im already planning my early retirement with my prototype design of propulsion, pitot static ports and anti erosion coatings... though i just need one of you lot to plough in a few hundred million so i can get things moving!
  18. ask silverbullet... hes just fitted a set
  19. lol... i blasted them down at work the other week and gave them a fresh coat of paint, just gotta fit the new seal kit... must have had them for well over a year now though
  20. nice going Dave me old mukka... i saw the link from baz a few seconds after he posted it and i thought 'fook me, bargain'... clicked buy now on the auction... got to the confirm button when that stupid bloody little voice in my head turned up and gave me all sorts of sh*t until my conscience gave in. swiftly followed by a red cross click!
