Yeah he was jailed for 5 months and a 4 year ban! Makes you think...
  4. Willie, So how much did that cost you? About £250 in fuel!?!?

Did you see that program on BBC2 the other night? Forgotten what its called but they were relocating a family to New Zealand. Looked great and they got a big house with loads of land for sod all cash.

The SE chip must still have a fair safety margin as Macca has just had a HKS AFR fitted and setup by Latz at GPS and noticed a huge difference. I had a JWT chip before changing to SE and again that was a massive improvement.

The whirring noise is probably the fuel pump getting up to pressure. Is it an auto? I would check the lever is in park or neutral as Pete said. I sometimes have a problem with the ignition inhibitor switch on the lever not engaging correctly and even in park it won't start. I have to move the lever through the gears and then it starts OK. Worth a try. Other than that, is the battery flat from standing at the dealer? Try giving it a good charge or replace it. People have had some odd results with low power batteries due to the amount of electronics in these cars. It can look like there is power to run the accessories but it still won't start.
  8. Just to make a timely point... My bloody cat just brought a young blackbird into the house but I quickly rescued it from it's gob! I went to let the poor thing go but there were 2 other cats in my front garden and another one at the back FFS Decided I'm keeping the poor blighter in a box overnight and will let it go during the day when there's less of the wildlife murderers about! Paul, LMAO you need an elephant gun mate, they will easy take mothballs ;) Macca, Can just see you flower arranging whilst neglecting the Z at weekends :D LMAO
  9. Just noticed my door is bent right in! :O Looked fine last night in the dark. As I hit it it's arse must have whipped round and smashed into my door. More expense I could do without....
  10. Is that a Stormtrooper sat in the background? :D
  11. LOL I saw that. Imagine seeing this come flying at you at night doing 60mph! I shit myself!
  12. It was a pretty large Roe Deer and with the speed I was doing I'm amazed there was not more damage to the car. There's just a dent in the wing, the paint has splintered and the wing has been pushed back a fraction so it catches on the door when it opens. If I'd been in the Z I reckon the whole fibreglass front would have gone. Years ago when my mate hit one it just ran off into the woods but this one was not so lucky :(
  13. Parked on a slope? ;)
  14. Just hit a deer doing about 60 ish in my Pug 206. Not happy after having to watch the poor thing roll about in the road for 10 minutes until it finally died :( Not much I could do. Feel really bad about it but it just launched itself out of the trees as I went past. Wierd thing is I was only talking to Andy Duff this morning about a similar thing happening to me and my mate one night in his car 10 years ago. I've got a bent wing but it sounded much worse from the bang as it launched about 4 feet in the air and 20 feet down the road. Didn't even care about the car to be honest :(

Do you get a tin opener in your emergency kit? :D
  16. LMAO You been on the beans again?
  17. Yeah I know it won't last long but if it worked I would mount a bigger one somewhere. I've seen some of the Scooby kits recommending a 15L tank in the boot! :O I found a controller here for about £85 that seems to be very clever. It's from Australia too so looks like they are into it a lot over there.
  18. If you don't smoke then yes! LOL
  19. I bought an extra washer bottle and pump to make up an intercooler spray system but can't get any decent jets for it. Standard washer jets don't spray a fine enough mist to cover the whole cooler. Haven't decided how I'm going to get it to activate yet. I could get a temperature activated switch and have it come on as the charge temp rises but don't know how to make one/where to get it. The kits I've seen for Scoobies etc seem ridiculously expensive for what they are - £150 to £200. So far this has cost me about £15 so worth a go for not much cash. Not even sure if it will make a noticeable difference? Has anyone read any info on them?
