Jap Import insurance????
As I've never heard of one or seen anything like it in the UK I'm guessing the insurers would have to import any spares from Japan if you had an accident, hence the high costs. At least the 300ZX was available here so parts are plentiful whether it's an import or not.

Have I missed anything?
Not bad Paul, how's you? I've been too busy with my business to do anything with the Z but now I've got a few pennies coming in I need to get on with it before the thing rusts away and I have to sweep it off my drive! I'll have had the Z 10 years in June I think and it's spent most of that off the road LOL

for the boaty's on here
Sounds great! Once the Z is sorted the next job is to rebuild the engine on my Phantom 21 but I'm not sure it will ever get done!

Have I missed anything?
Need a list of 20 items sorting for the MOT then a lot of tidying up of the bodywork so probably a full respray really. Might need a clutch service kit which is not cheap. Just need to get motivated as all my time seems to go on other things and with 2 other cars it's easy to just leave it sitting on the drive.

Have I missed anything?
Cheers! I've got a Z that's in a right mess I need to get motivated to get back on the road. Been waiting until I could afford to do the work but I think I'm about there.

Why? is the 300zx manual gearbox so crap?
I thought it was about £8K from what I remember. Is that the one that the guy from Grasshopper (can't remember his name now) put in his R32 and it lasted weeks and they wouldn't do anything under warranty! Not sure if that was 4 wheel drive or not though.

dipones sig
Maybe it's you with your head up your arse cos last time I mentioned this I got told I was being boring and to stop moaning  Only way to fix it is to turn sigs off!
-
dipones sig
If you want the problem resolving then get some proper rules set up on the server to stop the ridiculous size images being allowed in sigs. Been saying this for years LOL Only way otherwise is to turn off all sigs which is a shame but speeds everything up and makes the forum easier to read.

Why? is the 300zx manual gearbox so crap?
Maybe it just took 3 years to think up a reply LOL Been told my box noise is just bearings and will probably go on for a lot of miles yet so I'm sticking with it for now. Got too many other things to sort out on the car yet so no point paying out loads before I get it through the MOT.

My new toy
Yes I was surprised. I could have traded in 3 old cars and scrapped one and still got all the discounts :o Quite like it in this blue but they don't do it in the UK:

My new toy
I've seen some of the stuff you drive so you've no room to talk! LOL Needed something big and reliable as a work utility vehicle and I've got the Z for performance and sporty looks :slap: Bit different to the pickups and vans I was looking at for work use and should be great fun for the outdoors stuff we do in summer :D

It's a real shame to be honest. They are scrapping anything that's worth less than £2K or even a bit more that people just want to get rid of because they can't sell. It's hardly environmentally friendly to scrap a perfectly good car, especially small engined stuff but it's selling a lot of cars. Wouldn't surprise me if dealers aren't using the scheme behind the scenes if the government are giving that cash towards it and they find a trade in hard to shift that's 10 years old. Apparently the scrappage budget has almost gone already because there's been a massive response. To be honest they're so desperate to shift cars you can get that money off anyway with a bit of haggling which is what I did. My 4 litre V8 Discovery with 150K on the clock is 12 years old but I've only had it 9 months and you have to own it 12 to be allowed to scrap it :( Stupid when the alternative is to scrap my Clio or 1.1L Fiat Seicento Sporting that's like new with 30K miles and far more efficient!

My new toy
Yes it's a deal that's on at the moment before they go bust I think LOL Still got a bit more off the price and some extra's thrown in. If our other car had been a month older it would have been under the scrappage scheme and got another £2K off and the car is only worth about £800.

OEM Accessories Prices
I've never seen the cream/beige leather seats before??? Tonneau cover does seem a bit of a waste of time - surely you could put the roof up in the time it takes to fit that? LOL
