I've just got one aswell - its got a few things that need sorting but even still its like nothing else i have ever driven :bow: Just make sure you take a good look at the car before you buy it & follow the buyers guide & you'll be fine mate. J

Most of them have safety cut offs that activate & seperate the main tanks from the pumps in case of fire.. i just couldn't believe that bloke - still filling his car up & watching as you said mate - i'd be off n all. J

Bought her from my boss @ work. To be fair i only had a quick look around & should have looked harder but i know fook all about engines & there wern't any sounds that pointed anything obviouse. J

:rant: Just got the Zed back from the exhaust gasket being sorted.. 200 quid + VAT Get a call - turns out he recons the Intake side of the exhaust from the tubby's is blowing, and theres an oil leak leading onto the cambelt.. So its an engine out jobbie. He wants £750+ VAT :rant: :headvswal Merry bloody christmas. Spoke to Mark @ Zenworld - Thanks for taking my calls today, sorry if i was annoying :bow: I recon the current guys (GDA) are taking the piss so i'm taking my Zed to Mark in the new year. J

Well its not really quallifications i'm after - i'm an IT techie so i just want to beable to do more of the complex stuff myself. (saving on garage bills lol) J

I'm looking at learning car maintenace etc so i can work on my cars myself. I can do the basic servicing but engine removal etc are beond me. my question is how do you go about learning? Unfortunatly i'm in full time employment so i'd be learing at home evenings & weekends. I have 2 cars so i can afford to have 1 off road & 1 to tinker with but apart from that i don't have a bloody clue lol Any help is appreciated. J

Hi all, I'm debating having the windows tinted. How easy is it to do it yourself? I'm thinking of dark smoke on the rear window & then light smoke on the side. I found a company that do kits for a decent price so just wondered how hard it would be.. Clicky J

Try the old trick of sticking it in the freezer for an hour or so mate.. As said above & i'm sure your aware - unless the Hard disk as been wiped Securely or wiped over with a magnet anything is recoverable. Good luck. BTW depending on the size of the hard disk - Professional services last time i checked were around £800 for a 60GB 2.5" drive to give you an idea. J

Cheers mate - i'm just letting them get on with it - GDA are based in Fordcombe, and i live in Tonbridge. On hindsight i will from now on be taking it to a ZX Specialist. J

@ turbopsychosis that seems to be whats going on with mine - i thought i heard rattling but what it turned out to be was exhaust blow from the gasket - the tapping sound.. Turns out the previous owner was aware of this & did nothing about it - so ownly a 1/4 of the current gasket is remaining.... :headvswal sorry for the rant guys - i was just pissed off that i'm Zedless till Monday. (i was just getting used to the Zed as well :bow: ) J

Ohh & just remembered - the rattle goes when its warmed up.. J

Well to be honest i'm not mechanically minded so i couldn't really confirm what they said, They are speciallists in all Jap cars & the owner has a 300 Fairlady, plus he's done work on my Zed before i bought her so i believe he is capable at doing the job. He quoted a 4hr job with new gasket so i'm looking at a 200 quid bill.. J

ffs & its already broken :rant: :rant: My new aquasition i.e. the 300zx started developing a rattle on acceleration. Took her down to GDA sports cars in Kent & left it with them for a diagnostic, turns out the exhaust has come loose from the turbos & is rattling. They've got her now till monday. Otherwise it was going to be over a week till they can sort it..... I'm now Zedless to Monday :rant: :rant: J
