  1. Ok ive been having a think about the air filter set-up and was wondering if anyone has done this or could find any problems with this idea. I was thinking of cutting down the pipework of the air filter system by just connecting silicon hose straight from the turbos to behind my bumper. I would then make air ducts direct to the cone filters for direct air feed. This would be alot better for air flow being practicly direct and alot less heat soak from the mile long standard pipework. Can anyone see any problems with this or should i just stick with the Doolz? Cheers Dan
  2. I always forget and im only down the road ill pop down too. No zed tho :(
  3. Erm.... thats a tuff one because ive got a tub full of nuts and bolts that ive gained from two engines. I could try and measure the thread for you if you like? Im hoping they will handle the heat of the down pipe! As for the ceramic coating and heat wrap ive covered most things that are prone to get very hot including oil lines exhaust and down pipes aswell as the manifolds and turbos. The less heat transfer the better :tongue_smilie:
  4. Yea it turned off at Rainham! I havent seen it since :(
  5. Great :) Thanks for your reply ill get on to it straight away! The last thing i want is for the engine to be no good after all this time and money
  6. Thanks for the info! Im really worried now i hope its not to late. My engine is stored at my lock up which used to be a refridgerated unit for mushrooms im hopeing its insulated enough...But it has been cold lately :(
  7. He sure is hope he replys to my PM
  8. Hi, Ive had my engine rebuilt about a year ago now its just sitting on an engine stand. I just havent got round to fitting the turbos etc. Ive been turning the engine over now and again at the crank, I know when it was built it was well creased etc! But do you think i should fill the engine with engine oil to prevent any damage? Thanks Dan
  9. So confused about this system its not as straight forward as i thought it would be
  10. Great cheers for your reply
  11. From what i understand as i have the same to fit when im finished. The MAP sensor has to be fitted as close as possible to the throttle body either end. No MAP sensor as standard. AEM temp sensor either fitted just after the air filter or throttle body. My AEM just plugs into the original loom socket?
  12. Hi all im after abit of info if poss, I know the N/A gear ratio allows the TT to excellerate quicker at a loss of top end. But is the mid range better or worse? Also how much is lost at the top end Cheers Dan

  16. I've got a snap off on my zed had it for years with no problems
  17. The turbo is to close to part of the block at the rear of the tub. If i remember right i think the gearbox bolts to the part that sticks out. Im thinking of shaving abit more off the block hopefully not enough to weaken the block
  18. Hi Jimmy my turbos are ceramic coated all ready plus putting jackets on i would need to gring more off the block to fit them
  19. Hi all, Does anyone know if or how much approx the rear of the the turbo expands by when hits hot? Not sure how true this is but after thinking about it as well most things expand when they are hot.....so it got me thinking because the right hand side turbo sits about 1 to 1.5mm away from the block in one area. Do i have anything to worry about? My turbos are ceramic coated if that helps in anyway! Cheers Dan
