  1. Ive been on a quest to find a spoiler for my build...Ive been racking my brains and searching the net for answers. Ive even considered having one made but that could turn out even more expensive and a very long process than the one ive found. Just dont think i can part with nearly £500 for this item. Does anyone know of anything simular or any other designs that would work with my car. It was between the CSL and the Twinz spoiler but recently the CSL has grown on me.
  2. Depends on offset too
  3. In away yes its a Quaife ATB diff with N/A 4.10 leader gears so the ratio is pritty much the same as an N/A. Im expecting good results with this combo hopefully.
  4. Thanks for the nice comments guys. It was alot of messing around but after finding the right technique and shaving the lip down a tiny bit on the poly mount it went in. The problem was the poly mounts are designed differently to the OEM bushes. They sit futher out of the subframe. 1 side this isnt a problem as the casing of the diff just slips inside the mount. But the other side the casing is different so the poly mount sits agaist the casing stopping the diff to sit in place correctly. We tried levering it in pushing agaist the poly bush but the bushes are solid and didnt give much at all. Plus it was also hard to find anything solid enough to lever off. The only thing we could do now is trim a little off the bush itself using a Dremmel. Only the outer face was trimmed so it wont effect the bush doing its job in anyway. We measured and made sure it wasnt the subframe that was out of shape too and found to problems...so i guess its just a little design fault as both mounts are made exactly the same no left or right side bushes. I feel like ive been on a diff fitting crash course now haha i can fit these in my sleep.
  5. At last me and a few pals got the diff in place :tongue_smilie: Was working untill 3am but it was worth it. We also got the 1 piece prop shaft, Drive shafts and a few loom problems solved. So glad its over and done with moving on to the next task now... A few pics
  6. Im still trying to fit mine on the car...Its a very rare diff that wasnt originally sold in the UK and was only a limited run in the USA. Is ment to be by far the best diff. I also have the 4.10 leader gear setup.
  7. Thanks for your kind words guys....tomorrow night will be my 5th night of trying to get this bloody thing to fit. Trying all different ideas and ways. Spoke to Luke at the zed centre today and will be trying another way..hopefully the last. I'll take some pics if I don't win. Hopefully ill be celebrating
  8. Still no luck spent a few hours on it again tonight. Managed to get 1 bolts in but im unable to move the diff to get the other bolt in. Becoming a joke really fed up with it now to the point im gonna give up
  9. I just want to check before i make an expensive mistake. Ive alread got the down pipes and de cat pipes.....do i need to buy an X pipe or H or is that the same as my de cats? As i have a choice either to buy the back boxes on there own or with a X pipe Help!! Thanks Dan
  10. Hi all, Does anyone know where to buy and what exhaust is best for sound and power? Ive got the 3" super splits down pipes and greg dupree 3" de cat pipes im now after the rest of the system. I like the look of the Billy boat, Labree systems with the quad type exhausts but cant seem to find a UK seller for any 3" systems for the 300zx in the UK Can anyone help? Dont really want to go the custom made route as i will have to sort transport for the Zed to be carted around.
  11. Wouldnt bother with the rears its brain ache haha
  12. Has got a hell of alot of over spray but if its cheap enough a great buy
  13. Im not a fan of the perpex strip thats what put me off the 99 spec normally as i also like the 89. Lol so much to think about. Thanks for your help Vodkashots. Nice pics too :)
  14. The 99 spec is growing on me but i also just see the Twinz spec 1 spoiler.
  15. I like it with the spoiler is that the 99 spec? I like the 99 spec or one of these if they are availble http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=203833
  16. I thought about the Carbon dipping route too...Im having a lot of stuff being dipped at the moment so ill be able to compare soon. Its make or break with the spoiler im even thinking of just a subtle lip and a perpex strip.
  17. Hi all i just fitted my Carbon rear hatch. I just cant decide what to do and looking for some ideas or suggestions in what spoiler to go for. I quite like the non spoiler look but for this build i think the car should have one...But what one? Any ideas? The Bomex rear skirt isnt fitted and im going to have the A piller and tops of the doors painted black but here is a few pics to go on. Thanks Dan
  18. Thought you had been quiet. Shame to sell or break the car after all the effort and money to put the beast together.
  19. If the syncros can be frozen i would go with that. If that fails then id consider the mega expensive route of HKS, Os Giken or Ppg setup. Ive heard good things about the cryrogenic process
  20. I had my last insurance company try writing my zed off a few years back as the window claim was near £3000 grand with bronse tint and trims. It was going to have to be imported from Japan. That was with autoglass. I ended up telling them to shove it and sourced 2nd hand glass off the forum.
  21. I was looking in to the ppg straight cut gear set but its way to expensive at the moment for me. Would like to know of anyother opsions? Maybe cryogenicly freeze the standard gearbox parts. A friend done the same with his gtr box and has never had a problem since. Before that he done 2 gearboxs in a week.
  22. Thanks for all of your nice comments.. I deleted the previous pages due to a mate of mine had his Evo 9 stolen after spending over 20k on it. It is thought to be forum related as he did a build thread as well. So not to do with the site in anyway. :innocent: I have a link to the USA site that still has my build thread. http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=187963 Part of the reason the build has taken so long is because ive been so anal to the extent im even ripping my own hair out :banghead: But once you start you cant just stop as in my eyes the car would look unfinished with new and old parts. Everything has either been replaced, restored or upgraded. The diff is is giving me grief still as it doesnt seem to want to fit into place with the polly mounts installed. I fitted the boot last night with a friend it was a straight fit but with a few adjustments and modding im more than happy with it I spent last night fitting the Carbon hatch at first i thought this isnt going to fit was out by miles in places. But with a bit of fiddling and slight modification im more and happy with it! Its by far the best carbon panel ive seen to date its pretty spot on. Pics to come once photo bucket plays ball again.
