  3. I've measured them and taken a pic but I can't upload from my phone. It's about 120mm in length ill post the pic up asap. Thanks dan
  4. Just thinking the flanges could be that way as they are 3" in diameter. If they were ment to be as stated they may clash or be really close?
  5. Thanks for the info ill double check my x pipes when they arrive. I've got a pic of where the hangers fit at home. They are in line with the hangers but the hangers sit higher. I'll post the pic when I get home.
  6. Fingers crossed :) That would be great :pint:
  7. Great ill pop down the unit tomorrow and measure them thanks Dan
  8. Does any one work in metal fabrication or know where i can have these made? The reason being is i bought some adjustable arms from a member here and the bolts in this picture are to short. I only just found out the original kit comes with 2 types of lengths depending on car. But ive only been sent the short ones  Im cant find a supplier so looking in to other opsions Thanks Dan
  9. Well good news i think! It was playing on my mind so i drove to the unit to check things out...the last thing i want to do is take the engine out and mess with the turbos oil lines etc. I removed the gearbox exhaust bracket that i know others have had problems with when fitting after market exhausts. I then bolted up the exhaust and they both sit perfect side by side. So now im thinking its the bracket or the hangers on the pipes. For some reason ive got 2 different types of bracket but neither fit well. I also got better news from Greg who imformed me that if i havent ported the ports in the heads i will be fine if the manifolds are not 100% correctly aligned as the manifolds ports are larger. So here is a pic of the exhausts do they look like they are in the right position? They are 3" so they will sit slightly different to stock i guess.
  10. Hi all, As my previous thread one side of my exhaust is lower than the other...I contacted Greg Dupree at SpecialityZ and told him what ive come across. He explained that it looks like one manifold has not been centrered correctly as the bolt holes on the manifolds are larger than the studs to allow for expansion. I really dont want to take the engine out and strip it down again after all the dramas previous and recently getting so far with it. Im hoping these manifolds are ported a bit larger than the stock head ports so the ports wont be over lapping otherwise im giving up!
  11. Hi Bud, Just realized you dont have the PM opsion..If your still interested in the Hks bovs and Z1 pipes you can contact me on Dgbsn06@googlemail.com Thanks Dan
  12. Lovely cars there mate. I know Gaz they are just down the road from me i used to have there coilovers for a while on my zed
  13. I'm thinking of trying to get an exhaust company to bend the pipe a tad. The flanges are what came on the Sz super splits down pipes
  14. Here is a few pics ive my problem can anyone see if im doing wrong?
  15. Ive taken some pics and have sent them to Gregs email i think. I hope ill hear from them soon. I cant see what ive done can be wrong but who knows lol
  16. Ive got solid mounts from Z1motorsport saves fitting all the original metal sleeves
  17. Maybe ill put it back on then. I've got a bracket without the weight on and 1 with I'm wondering why? Unless they changed design over the years
  18. Thanks Pete I'm hopefully coming towards the end of the build now and like you say there is no manual to building a modded zed. But id like at least 1 thing to go right first time now and then lol. I'm using Greg Dupree manifolds and decats just would of thought they would of been of better quality.
  19. Glad its not just me then i seem to hit problem after problem. At least 2 inches difference :(
  20. Hi all, I started fitting the exhaust today but when i fitted the decats to the down pipes i noticed the drivers side pipe was sitting in a total different position to the other. It sits about 2 inches higher so its impossible to fit the pipe on to the gearbox exhaust bracket. Has anyone else come across this problem? Im guessing im going to need to find someone with a pipe bender
  21. Hi all, Done a lot of jobs today which 1 was fitting the exhaust brackets and part of the exhaust. Does anyone know what the big weight is for thats attached to the gearbox mount? Ive got one bracket with out and another with..for the moment ive fitted the 1 without as it just seems like added weight i dont need. Thanks Dan
  22. Baz i want your arches! Love the new look of your Zed
  23. It's a jap import something isn't right there. It's for a jap import rear bumper and fog light. The clocks are even jap. I've heard of the dvla messing up in reg plates but that takes the Mick. Looks to me as a 1990 car. And the dvla messed up. I friend of mine had an L reg zed that was a 1991. I'm guessing the guy may not have the log book to realize its an import.
  24. They do a carbon boot hatch for the lwb because I've got 1 :)
  25. Loads of little jobs to get to the stage of getting the car running and moving. Off the top of my head: Finish fitting adjustable lower arms and inner/outer steering arms. Refit calipers and discs. Check and torque everything. Finish plumbing fuel system and boost pipes. Refit down pipes. Prep engine for its first start (dredding) Relocate battery to boot. Plumb and finish fitting elec power steering pump. The most important bits to do all the fancy bits can be done later I just want it running now.
