Dropped off my car at LA Autos today. Lee & Sam were great, gonna get her serviced and given the once over. The guys were great fun and really, really knowledgeable. I cannot wait for Lee & Sam to work their magic :-)

sad news from Lee :-( but damn lucky too
Dude, I am so sorry my remark was seen as flippant, that's the last thing I was trying to be mate. I know exactly how the car gets to you, I spent 3 months looking for mine from a sick bed and worked myself up before getting it something terrible. I have just left it at the garage for some work and im worried to death, I was out in the rain and wind about 20 times over the last two days making sure the cover was still on it, I know how Lee feels. I admit I haven't rebuilt the car and put anywhere near the hours in Lee has. To be honest, I read the posts of all Lees mates and club members offering sincere comments and friendship and i just wanted Lee to know that although its terrible what has happened, I really hope Lee can get the insurance as suggested and put the nightmare of whats happened behind him, to have your pride and joy taken from you like that is terrible and I wanted to offer practical advice, sorry for any offence, I honestly didn't mean it to come over like that, I will try and remove my comment straight away. God I feel terrible now, I just got my membership pack today and was so chuffed....feel like a total Pratt now.

Replacement Fuel Lines
Hi All, I have a fuel smell when the car is started that seems to go when the car warms up. I want to change the fuel lines, can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the Bedfordshire area who may be able to assist me or have details on how I can approach this work. My local garage are not really ZX savvy? Thanks

What did you do to your zed today?
As soon as it was dry enough, I took the cover off, smiled, got in and drove round the block at lunch time. I love this car :-)

Hi Gaz, I made a paypal payment on the 30 October and sent an email over the same day to garywilson@300zx.co.uk with all my details? Is this the correct email mate? I tried to PM but couldn't for some reason?

Rustproofing and waxoiling underneath,
Thanks man, me too, the car wont be out if its raining or wet but my bloody garage is too narrow to get the car in so its under a breathable, lined, secured cover whilst I sort the cost out to widen me garage ha ha! Hence i'm desperate to get the underneath protected ASAP and also what is good for protecting the alloy wheels as these are just peeking out from the cover and I want to keep these as mint as possible? My mate has large and airy garage and space heaters so I will advise him he needs to crank it up when he does the job. Thanks Si.

Rustproofing and waxoiling underneath,
Hi All, Hope you can help me. I recently brought a 98 Jap import with no rust and I wanna keep it this way. I'm about to send my new ZX in to have the underneath rust proofed and the sills, doors, wheel arches and usual water/rust spots treated before the winter kicks in with a vengeance. Now, I'm in a quandary. From the above the I feel the best protection is for the POR 15 Marine Clean followed by POR 15 Prep and Ready followed by POR 15 Black Rust protection paint, just for the chassis. For sealing the sills, door bottoms and wheel arches etc, I guess Waxoyl injected into these areas will be better suited. Can anyone advise if I am right? My mate at the garage swears by waxoyl for the sills/doors/arches and highly recommends 3M for underneath, after a good clean and surface rust removal. So before I plough in and spend dosh on POR15 what's your views? TIA chaps. Cheers ;-)

A/T switch on my Auto TT
Thanks Jeff, perfect explanation, much appreciated mate, it's not something I was aware was a feature on autos so glad to know it's there !

A/T switch on my Auto TT
Now don't rip me too much, but whilst driving my auto today, I noticed a rocker switch above the P by the gearstick with A/T on it, what's it for? Does it fire up the warp drive if I press it ? Or eject my passenger seat? No clue what this is for? BTW it's my first auto and first 300zx, and I have only had it a day :-)

Always been wary of Autos, however this is fantastic, overdrive and overall changes are effortless and timely, it proved its worth in 2 hours of nose to tail traffic today. Converted :-)

Thanks for the welcome all. I'm still buzzing after driving the car for the first time. Unbelievable, really enjoyed driving this wicked car back home. Just for the record, I've brought cars in the past but the way Gaz has gone about arranging the sale and the quality of this motor is to be commended, I thoroughly recommend Gaz to all newcomers looking for a zed, every time. Great guy,, great cars. I am sooooo impressed with the way the car feels, goes and looks, love this car already. 2hrs crawling nose to tail round the M25, I kept worrying about overheating but she ran sweet as a nut, couldn't wait for the traffic to clear and finally got a feel for what this beauty can do, bloody hell buts it quick. Glad I'm in the club, gonna enjoy meeting other zedheads!- Twas the night before ZXmas :-)
Hi All, Newbie here from Bedfordshire. Going to pick up my first 300 ZX TT tomorrow! It's the 98 Purple one my new best friend Gazwoz imported in recently. I'm keeping it stock, as is, no real ideas of mods, just want to keep it as original as possible and enjoy it. I know everyone would drop a manual box in but I have had recent leg Op, so an autos perfect for me :-) I'm lucky enough to have had a 260z and a 280zx in my youth and wanted to go to the next model, the car I always wanted but could never have, a Z32. I drive a freelander as a day car, I'm so looking forward to having a motor with some poke and a truly great heritage, hence the Zed. I'm looking forward to making lots of new mates on here and getting to the shows to see your motors as well. Gotta get some kip now, it's nearly ZXmas day for me :-) Cheers All - Purple Haze :-) :: 1998 Nissan 300ZX TT Targa
