  2. Same sort of person that has a gloss black bonnet on a different coloured car I would presume?! :whistling: I'm only kidding - you do whatever you want. Im fitting white wall tyres & know there not to everyones liking
  3. Cos hes just finished tastefully doing his skirting at home & has some left over!!:lol::lol:
  4. Just spoke to the restoration shop - its nearly finished!! Just another day or 2 to have it ready :hyper: Just to add the panels for the rear sill repair I got from ebay - they told me they were not a very good fit & needed some reworking to get them on, so maybe not such a good idea for those looking for them  Hopefully my sprayer will get to work & get it all done sooner rather than later & I will be back in my zed after a 2 year break!! :scooter:
  5. or the roof off! ;)
  6. From memory he did do inner panels as well, but I only wanted the outer one. You could make one from sheet steel but I wanted one rolled to the correct shape & for £45 its not too bad.
  7. theres a good write up in this link with all you need to know: http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/detonationSensor/detonationSensor.html :)
  8. Looks about the same as mine! Check out my link in my signature below. I got some rear repair panels from a guy on ebay called littlebird1303 - he sells quite a few different car repair panels, it may be worth contacting him. I had one side off him when he was listing them then contacted him for the other side some months later, although he had none listed he made one up for me :) Paul
  9. Cheers for the comments guys - will give it a go :)
  10. LOL! I remember years ago one of the papers done a lottery & fekked up - sent everyone the same numbers on the card & half the UK won about 12p each!!
  11. LOL!! May give it a go then when I'm ready to sell
  12. Did you do a premium ad? says standard ads are free: "Is there a charge? Standard adverts are completely free! Premium and Trade adverts are subject to a small charge. Apart from the premium ones being listed first the standard appears the same, still ad photos etc?!
  13. Have never used the site but will soon be selling my Mercedes ML & was thinking of trying it on pistonheads - have many people used it? It says its free for standard adverts - appears to have a fairly wide audience these days, any comments?? Paul
  14. Tis true! Many dealers (Mercedes included) have resorted to sucking the oil out through the dipstick tube. I have refused to do this & our workshop still drains through the sump bung :thumbup1: In fact I have just bought 2 new oil drainers!! On a Mercedes A Service many dealers do not even put the car on a ramp! In a bay, oil filter accessed from the top, suck the oil through the dipstick tube, kick the tyres & send it out the door  This is all as per Mercedes service schedules too! We still do a full inspection regardless of the schedule & the fact Mercedes give us about 5 minutes of time to do it LOL!
  15. Mobil Super S is NOT a Mobil 1 product & is only a semi synthetic oil. Still a good oil but nowhere near the same standard as Mobil 1! :smartass:
  16. I was impressed when I fitted mine - a lightweight crank pulley as well makes quite a difference IMO :)
  17. giving ups easy Stu - I have done it hundreds of times now  My tip is start again now before you struggle for a few months & start again anyway!!!
  18. jeez! I thought mine was bad :scared: Good luck!!
  19. http://www.apc-overnight.com/ Always good with good prices :)
  20. The screw is just a simple fixing - when fitting a single JWT filter it pushes through the splash shield to prevent water getting onto the filter!
  21. from DVLA: I have not received the tax disc. Can I use the vehicle without the tax disc displayed? When you apply for a tax disc online or by using our phone service you are able to legally continue to drive your vehicle for up to 5 days after the tax disc has expired while you wait for the new tax disc to arrive. This will only apply when you have applied for a new tax disc before the current one expires. You should continue to display the expired disc on your vehicle, until the new one arrives.
  22. Im 42 UK TT Manual - owned for over 8 years 54 Golf GT TDI ML 270 CDi - soon for sale if anyone wants one :D
  23. If I was being specific I would probably mean "most people". My Nan used to do the shopping for all the old dears in her street (LOL! old dears - she was older than most of them!!) pretty much until the day she died  She had dodgy knees, dodgy hips & cancer. If she could do that out of the goodness of her heart then Im sure "most" people could do some good for the community!!
  24. Damn straight! I think where they want to cut public sector work they should make people on benefits do some bloody work for the dosh they get! Theres plenty of unskilled work that they could do, even if it was going around clearing rubbish from public areas, painting over graffiti, maybe doing some gardening for the elderly etc :glare:
  25. LOL!! I was - only by being born in 1968 will you ever know how cheesy the 80's were!!:lol:
