  1. Do the headlamp washer bottle conversion to squirt on the IC's , then fill the bottle with slush-puppies :D

  3. R12 has screw service valves - R134a has bayonet types ;) hope the spelling's ok for you :D
  4. also, check the IC's themselves for damage
  5. there would be no fluid - he means the air intake pipes check under the bonnet the large pipes that go to the throttle bodies (2 each side) make sure there secure - they are the easiest to get to 1st
  6. no, there very cheap, a little akward but quite easy to do too ;) just get new pipes as the old ones will be rock hard
  7. Yup - you do need a decent airgun tho, not a £9.99 one from B&Q ;) :D had no probs buzzin mine off with an airgun
  8. which bits?!?!? compressor - on engine driven by belt condensor - in front of rad evaporator - behind dash reciever/drier - behind bumper IIRC etc etc..............

  10. IMO soldering is a far better way of joining wires than crimp connectors.
  11. AFAIK they all have A/C if you set the temperature below ambiant temperature then the A/C should cut in to cool the incoming air. set it to 10 & it will blow cold air all the time

  14. theres a few different refrigerants that are compatible with the old oil R49 is the one i have listed from a supplier thats on my desk at the moment :) the only problem is it costs twice as much as R134a :(

R12 was used in most cars up to about 10 yrs ago when thay went over to R134a the problem with mixing is not with the gas - that can be evacuated. its with the oil used. the 2 types ar not mixable - R12 oil is mineral based, R134a oil is synthetic. put R134a in an old R12 system & the old oil in the system turns to jelly & doesnt mix.
  16. it is illegal to fill any system with R12 now, so unless you can find an unsavoury type to fill it for you its not much use

  21. on two counts- 1, just got back from Goodwood. was excellent!! :D weather was fab all day :cool: some bonkers action going on the 1200bhp wheelieing Barracuda was amazing!! even more amazing was: 2, i done a 281 mile round trip without filling up AND still have a little (very little ;) ) fuel left!!! :cool:

  23. you could try a motor factors that specialises in body parts, theres one near me if you want to remind me on Monday :) prob be a lot cheaper than that, i used to get outer sills for other cars for £10-20 ea!

  25. Nissan supply a mesh grille for the intake in the bumper i used some stainless steel mesh & bonded it on :)
