reducing combustion temperatures reduces the risk of detonation, allowing higher boost................. EGR works by lowering the combustion temperature.................. you want to remove EGR.......... discuss. ;) i agree that exhaust gasses being put back into the combustion chamber is a far from ideal way of reducing temps but is there any downside to removing it?? the primary reason is emmision control - more precisely NOx which is formed at high combustion temperatues which a TWC cannot do anything with

1, smithy does a couple of nice hybrids 2, JWT or SE are the usual ones, JWT is said to be the safer one, running a little richer, the SE one is said to produce more power. 3, I have a JWT filter & am very happy with it. theres lots of good elecy bits out there to choose from, have a word with some of the traders. if the engines a swap over job, it might be worth doing a rebuild while its out, check & overhaul the heads, new rings & shells & hone the block. shouldnt cost the earth :)

all of the Merc V engines are the same! some German engineer obviously found this was the most efficient/lowest emmission/compact way.

having had no major probs with my zed in the 18+ months iv now owned it (are they really that unreliable?? ;) ), I too love my Zed!! :hyper: :dance:
