Grounding Kits - Do they really help?
ah, i see what grag was saying. the heater matrix corrodes more rapidly if there is a voltage leak, this can be caused by poor earths. this has the effect of a small voltage being present in the coolant creating electrolysis & corroding the matrix.

dont ever ground the heater matrix!! it will act as a sacrificial anode & actually make it corrode quicker!!!!

Most common MOT failure points?
ooh, kinda! it is true that many 92 cars have no cats! this is why a BET test is carried out & then a non cat test done after if it fails. Imports are tested in the exact same way as a UK!!! if it fails the BET test then a non cat test is carried out if its not in the database. (ALL zeds!) an import vehicle that is in the database would recieve a cat test the same as a UK!! after 95 ALL vehicles are subject to a default cat test ;)

Most common MOT failure points?
by who??? i take it you work out of the same testers manual as me?! there is a specific route to follow with emissions tests. a BET must be carried out 1st, most zeds will pass this anyway. if it fails you MUST do a vehicle specific test. if there is no match for a Z32 then what do you test it to????? :nono: you must then do a default non cat test! as iv said, unless your tests in scotland are different

Just how reliable are Z's
apart from upgrades & parts that are replaced as just general wear & tear the zed has cost me next to nothing to run (petrol aside ;) ) in the 3 1/2 years ive owned it!! the only time its let me down with an unforseen problem is when the PTU failed a couple of months after i bought it!! regular maintenance is a must tho :)

Turbo Timer?
i would actually say that a turbo timer is WORSE that driving gently for a short while after giving them a hard time. its just a lazy way of giving the tubs a bit of help! stationary at idle, theres no air flow & oil pressure is at its lowest!! never used one - never will!
-
Turbo Timer?
or even better, after a good hard thrash, give the car 5 mins gentle driving before switching off. much better than just letting it idle IMO - & its free!! :)

Left hand drive ..... ?
it would involve a lot of work! steering rack (+subframe?), dash & instrumentation, column, new/modified wiring loom, pedalbox, centre console, handbrake & cable, headlights, relocating of ECU's, etc etc i remember working for Lancia when the Intergarale 1st come out - there was a co that used to do these conversions. had one come in. fookin lot of work tho!!
