  1. hey im going away for 6 months working , my zed is going to be kept in storage ,when i get back im looking to get an engine rebuild but i want to get a wild one like 450-500 bhp re-build do any traders feel like giving me a quote and a little explanation of what you will actually do for the money cheers jim .

  4. guys , im going abroad for about 8 months and my zed is staying here in a garage. Does this pose a potential problem doing this ??? i.e when i get back and try to start it, the engine is seized where its not been run for so long . Or is there anything else that could happen if you leave it standing for a long period of time ???? jim

  8. hey guys can anyone shed light on this little matter ??? i bought my zed from japan so im the first uk owner , the car was used for drifting according to the mechanic of the company that imported it he said the tyres that were on it were for drifting (and they were slippery, in the wet deadly! ) so ive changed them . The car has a hks evc and i have had a look at the ecu and it has a hiperchip sticker so i take it its been chipped does anyone know anything about " HIPERCHIP" also when saw photos of the cars interior i could see that ythe evc was turned to max ! When i picked the car up the evc was turned down , i asked the mechanic there about it he said even if i turned it to max it wouldnt overboost but on the gauge when i turn it past 2 thirds up on the evc it flies past the 14psi mark for it to do this it would need forged internals ??????? and what other things would it require to have been done, and how can i tell if its capable of going past 14psi??? i dont want to turn it up anymore in fear of blowing my new motor and as you can tell im not to clued up on this car any help would be great cheers

  11. hey guys i checked my oil today and the dipstick was reading half full. I took the car to my mates garage we had a look underneath and it was a mess! not only was there oil there was a load of power steering fluid i think we sorted the p/s leak but the oil leak is another matter there is a little bit coming out of the rear crank seal but nothing major the sump gasket is a bit leaky but again not enough to make it lose that much oil in a month the main leak is coming from ??? i dont know but if you stand underneath the car and looked to the front the right hand side where the turbo is situated there is the heavy leak ,around there is a lot of oil on the wastegate but it looks kike its coming from above there although i inspected the area thoroughly i could not pin point the leak i would be able to i i started stripping but im not competant in this calibre of vehicle so ill give that a miss ,anyone got any ideas where it could be coming from advice would be much appreciated
  12. erm when i took it to ztech greg said he would think it was runnig about that figure and i skinned a subaru the other day(which put a smile on my face!) quite easily when i got up to speed so it seems to be running well , i will get a proper bhp read out at some point i got a few other things to do first.

  16. my 91 tt jap manual zed is running about 340bhp it only has a few mild mods, air filter ,hks evc its been chipped by a company called hiperchip anyone heard of them??? anyway i want to get the car to around 400bhp any ideas on which way i would need to go on this like a list of mods that i would need to do any ideas guys ??? jim

I would tend to agree, sure sometimes it can be good to use an engine flush but on the other hand it can cause all sorts of problems sometimes in the engine the old gunky oil thats in there(the stuff that you want to get out) will actually be doing good like blocking small leaks the engine flush is just going to dislodge this and move it around sometimes into places you dont want it to like turbochargers! which as you can imagine will cause trouble also when you fill the car back up with fresh oil you might find you have sprung a few leaks. If you have got history of the car being serviced with a engine flush you will probably be alright because the gunky oil wouldnt have been aloud to settle into small leaks ect but if its the first flush and the car has done 70k for example i wouldnt recomend it mate jim

  22. no it was custom made and i got them to put new downpipes on the car but someone has told me the cats are part of the downpipes not just the two boxes behind the downpipes with the leads coming out of them ???
  23. hey guys my car keeps smoking usually only when you first start it and only from one exhaust the left exhaust, i had new downpipes put on the car by blueflame but i told them to keep the cats(to keep the turbos alive), i was recently told by someone that the car was de-cated and this was causing the turbos to smoke, so i phoned blueflame and they said the cats had been kept on ,they said they are two boxes with leads coming out of them but someone else told me the downpies consited as part of the cat , can anyone enlighten me on this also whats the best way to find out if its the turbos smoking and not anything else ???
