also appart from the slight manifold leak could there be any other reason why they could be lagging ???? appart from them being bigger also from underneath i can see that the housing on the turbos says garrett so i imagine they must be standard huh ???

answer to the first question is 385.8 at the fly wheel just over 320 at the wheels and im just going to find the papers to have a look at the torque ill see if i can scan them and put them up on here so you guys can have a proper look

First of all what are causes of turbo lag ??? I have a slight exhaust leak and i believe that it could be coming from the manifold somewhere on the passenge side but its not particulaly bad . The boost dosnt relly come in till 4000rpm !! could this slight leak be causing this ??? even with this leak i had it dynoed last week at 385.8 bhp at 0.9 bar . On the graph you can see this but when the boost comes in the boost curve is very steep its not smooth . The technician thinks the car might have bigger turbos on, and thinks this might be causing the lag i bought the car blind and dont know its history what i know is that its got an evc 3 and an apexi afc and a hks fmic i mean what do the tech heads on here think with standard turbos would the boost curve be smoother or could it be this slight exhaust problem causing the turbos to lag and making the curve very steep from 4000rpm i mean isnt 385.8 a bit high for standard turbos???? Please advise someone

I used ztech about 18 months ago and i thought they were very helpful and did a really good job whats all this about bad history ??? And why has just about every zed garage on the forum been taken off i thought ztech couldnt do nought wrong according to this forum ihave i been away for to long and missed something what the bloody hell is going on ???

try a company called camskil for these they are real cheap i had 452 on my last zed agree with above great tyre for the money im not sure if camskil is with 2 L's but its free delivery aswell jim

so guys what would cause the turbos to lag till 4000 rpm ??? only thing i can think of is exhaust gas leakage betwwen the turbo and manifold ??? but wouldnt it have to be quite a serious leak to delay it to 4000 rpm ??? or teach me something i dont know is there anything else that could cause the delay??? i mean if they were knackered they wouldnt boost would they?? or they would smoke or wine at the least ???

also the reason for me and the guys at the dyno place thinking that they may be uprated or replaced is 1. The delay before boost arrives its about 4000rpm before it starts to boost 2. when it does begin to boost its very aggresive and 3. they said that on standard tubbies the boost would tend to strugle at the top end i.e 14psi where as on the graph it shows that they are boosting very strong at 14psi and he said they seem to have a lot more in them as the boost up was not struggling at all would anything else cause a delay of boost till 4000rpm ???

took my car to be dyno today came back with 385.8 bhp at the flyweel its running 0.95 bar boost got a hks intercooler the guys at this place were saying that the turbos seemed to take a long time to spool up giving them the impression that the turbos have either been modified or replaced with larger ones , they also said that standard turbos tend to lose guts approaching 15 psi but they said that mine seemed very strong going up to it . is it possible to produce that kind of bhp with standard tubbies ???? and what sort of bhp would you expect to get from standard turbos running 14 psi ????

well ive had the car on a ramp with four guys underneath including myself and its not leaking from anywhere underneath we have had a look at all the gskets appart from the manifold ones and its coming from the passenger side mate

i think i have a slight leak from the manifold probably one of the gaskets but its very slight is this a major problem performance dosnt seemed to be affected and how much is this going to cost for me to get fixed ???

if i take it to a tuning company would they be able to see if its chipped as well as the afc also would it be wise if it aint chipped to get it chipped and mug off the afc ???

bac with my afc problems again . Now i know that if it is not set up correctly all sorts of bad things can happen but until i get it on the rolling road what should i do ???? i was thinking that running short of fuel is bad very bad but running rich is not so bad apart from the fuel consumption ??? so if i was to turn all five dials up to +30 the car would be safe at running 0.9kg/cm2 boost ???? or does anyone know what the dials should be turned to when running this amount of boost ??? ive read the instruction manual on the apexi website so im aware of the concept how the device works but there are no setting instructions at all . help if possible (please)
