I have no idea! From what i could see, was the hose was pushed over the little notch that would make a gap between the hose and face, so they decided to lather it in bodge.. possibly without noticing the notch and wanted to fill the gap.. i don't get it either.

Update for everyone! Really appreciate the quick replies! It appears if was a bad seal between the hose and the face, a mix of oxidation and the hose being pushed on too far meant it couldn't be fastened tightly.. after cleaning up and tightening down, ran it for 15 mins and no apparent dribbles! appears to be solved! Are you here looking at the car with me? seems to me you've described what I can see perfectly, no cracks in hose or the face itself, going to cleanup and see how the seal is then.

OK Guys, I will get the radiator and fan out and take the pipe off and picture the damage for further advice. Await my follow-up please! :)

I'm fairly certain it is the second pipe down.. Photo from Z32 Wiki..

Just discovered that my Z has a coolant leak on the front of the engine, the second pipe below the radiator inlet(I think its an inlet?) pipe. It only starts to leak when the engine has run for a minute but then gets bad. After looking it appears the previous owner has put some grunge all around the pipe to stop it.. Does anyone know what this pipe connects to? and if its expensive job :( Thanks

Think I'm going to leave the coal canister for now as i don't know what alternatives there is to it. Thinking I'm going to try find a small a expansion tank as possible, is there anything special ill need on the tank or will any tank from any car work?

I've got bigger SMICs on the way and think the extra room will help installation and flow to the intercooler Is it safe to remove the coal canister? Downfalls? Has anyone found a smaller overflow tank that they mounted? If yes do you have instructions xD! If not i think I will remove it after reading a thread on here on this case. So, Would you remove them? I'm more concerned with the coal canister really. If there's any alternatives too. Thanks
