  1. Hang on a minute, back in the cold war days, weren't we all worried about the all the dust from the nukes causing the "Nuclear Winter"? And now we're worried about global warming? Isn't the cure obvious? Bang off a few nukes in the right place = stop global warming and, if you choose the right place(s), a considerable enhancement to world peace and security :D
  2. Yours arrived in July 1999 at the latest. :) Mine had the same reg letters as yours but 568 later (eg 851). You didn't get it back then from Farleys 4 x 4 by any chance?
  3. This is a top tip. It cuts through all the cr*p. If your box does work in your mate's house but not at your dad's, your dish is pointing at the wrong satellite. Other common faults are dodgy cable / dodgy f-connector. Try David's first then let us know what happens. Gio (ex Amstrad, ex Astra, ex Eutelsat, currently satellite internet)

  5. yeh me too, which is why it's been a year or two since the wheel nuts got checked
  6. Feel free to call me an idiot as this is the second time I’ve been caught out like this. There I was getting more and more worried about an increasingly wobbly back end: have the shocks gone, why can’t I get the HICAS fixed, have my bushes dribbled and can I please keep this damn thing on the tarmac where it belongs. http://www.event-tyres.co.uk came round on Friday to junk the F1s in favour of a pair of Falken 452s and when I drove home – what joy. Much much better back end. Still needs work but no longer shimmies over bumps or feels like it’s going to spit me off the road at any time. All because the nuts were properly tightened. (Unfortunately they managed to put the wheels on the wrong way round so I have to hide from the wheel police until that’s corrected.) So avoid f*wittage - check your nuts and keep 'em tight. Manual says 98-118Nm, 10-12kgm, 72-87 ft-lb

  10. and here's how to get at them TTZ Diag codes with just a screwdriver. And some more diags here http://www.300zx.org.uk/diagnostics.htm along with full list of codes and other stuff (say "thanks, AndyP") Good luck
  11. Targa top leaks are very common. If yours don't, you're lucky. Mine has leaked on and off for over 6 years. Check for obvious signs of perishing, check the drain holes are clear, try some surface application of, eg, vaseline or peanut oil. A complete set of door seals are £200 or so per side (so I'm told). But imagine my delight when I just saw these. Good old Luke - I might try them the next time I arrive at work with a soggy right leg.
  12. Do you get any heat at all? If not, then sounds like the dreaded airlock. Do a search on airlock and you'll get lots of references.
  13. Not in this weather, matey! :D Besides, my knuckles haven't healed from last time....
  14. Here is a bulb comparison. It doesn't cover HIDs - and is only for dip beam not the main beam you mention. However, I guess that brighter bulbs would be available for this as well. I have recently driven a UK Z and the side beam on these appears much better than my JDM but whether this is because I need to clean the headlights or not I don't know yet.
  15. Well it's Xmas so here's a merry Xmas timewaster. We all see examples of cr*p driving which really winds us up so why not invent a few offences of our own? Here are a few to get you started. Merry Crimble - Gio :duffer: CD33 Cutting in like a complete arse DR65 In charge of a vehicle while wearing a hat, glasses, braces and a pipe DD42 Changing lanes in an offensive car DD22 Driving under the influence of 2Fast 2Furious DD99 Driving or attempting to drive while stupid CU60 Indicators not operative (automatically issued to all BMW drivers) CD80 Crashing without due care and attention CU45 Using a vehicle with offensive spoiler MS80 Refusing to get out of the middle lane SB30 Exceeding the bling limit in a built-up area during the hours of darkness
  16. Now I'm going to have to update the bloody thing . Hiya Ivan. Sadly I don't have any inside knowledge on Stillen. It was just there was a thread on here bloody years ago so I emailed Stillen and asked. And there you go!
  17. Here's a link to a search page which should find loads of other Orange numbers - maybe one of these will help saynoto0870 (ps if you hate phoning national numbers for customer care and paying full rate, this site can help)
  18. Here, mate, you're missing one of these: hahaha. :D
  19. Actually, it's a full stop or point  pedant mode
  20. Ferrari's, which employs about 600 people, has gone into administration on the BBC site.
  21. I had stock spoiler - waterlogged as usual and it used to smack me on the back of the head. Brand new struts from Nissan, no change still "wallop wallop wallop on me 'ed". Changed to ZCentre replica spoiler - fine no probs.
  22. I thought about this long and hard when my knock sensor failed and got some advice from Lymon (hi Eric) which is: Henri's det sensor relocation would probably be OK in the long term but there has to be a reason why Mr Nissan put the knock sensor where it is (instead of an easier place) and therefore the best place for a knock sensor is where it was designed to be. (oh, and hi greg - how's it going?) So plenum off it was (and another world of hurt from those b*stards at Lucas Garage but that's another story).
