Cleaning the CAS
Its been suggested that the "stuttering of my car" at WOT could be due to the CAS needing cleaning. By this im guessing all i can do is clean the contacts from the PTU to the CAS(think they the same wire loom?) so touch of wet/dry to the contacts to clean them the best route? Anything else i could do to isolate the cas to be at fault? the car runs fine at all speeds and starts fine as long as you dont use WOT. Im gonna try swapping over the maf this weekend as well, but the maf thats fitted isnt that old (circa 2yrs..) Thinking its more likely the CAS no... cheers guys

difference in engine
not wanting a fight, but i was under the impression the auto was quicker in a straight line so bhp cannot be hugly lower than a manual? or is that due to the turbos not dumping boost between gears?

HELP!! huge hesititation today
160 - 180, damn thats bit more than id hoped... guessing their are no aftermarket mafs that would be an upgrade? guessing this might also be why i think my zed isnt as fast as it should be?

s14 coolers
hmm, seems its not worht the hassle, shame really as you can pick these coolers up for around 30/40£ bad news about the fmic, didnt realise the plumbing was that bad for them... guess il have to look around for good upgrade wing mounted coolers then....

s14 coolers
mentioned before but after real detail now... How much work will it be to fit a pair of s14 coolers to replace my zed ones? the car has a 99spec front, but how much work / power gains... are these coolers ive got going to be worth the hasstle? Id luv a fmic but no spare cash and plenty of other things to do on the zed first, but was thinking these would be a cheap upgrade in the mean time.... guys are running upwards of 16psi on these coolers on 200s so they must be strong... but are they worth the hasstle?

Whats The Make Of My Exhaust

MAF / Lincoln area conzult
cool, mate you around next weekend? mind if i drop by sat/sun and just swap the maf's over and see if it cures my car.... assuming youve not got conzult...

MAF / Lincoln area conzult
guys, it appears my maf is dead (or dieing) but before i commit to buying a new one i was after a conzult / someone willing to let me bolt their maf onto my car to check that it solves the hessitation. Be few beers in it for any help... also anyone got a spare TT maf that works they want to sell assuming mine is dead... car still drives so i can travel to someone fairly local if that helps.... cheers all

HELP!! huge hesititation today
also having read the zed manual it says that if a maf failure is detected the ecu wont let the car rev above 2400 rmp in limp home mode...? chip disabled this or just not always the case?

HELP!! huge hesititation today
cheers guys, got the apexi off and it doesnt appear wet, although if this turns out to be the maf then i do need some kind of guard i guess.... mantra wonder if you could grab a pic of your sort of arrangement for me? also guys any ideas how i can test the maf without a replacement one? got the apexi off and it doesnt feel wet to me and the general area looks dry too, so probably just a dead maf... would this show on an ecu diag or anything?

costs for new maf? and fitting it just a replacement as in bolt on?
-
HELP!! huge hesititation today
too true, im guessing its really obvious if its wet then? and also daft question im sure but how do you get the nose panel off ? what sort of arrangement did you go for in the splash guard? as for drying the maf out, is it dead now its wet (assuming) or can i leave it to dry and then crack on as its all fine? cheers for the help mate...

My First Trackday
chris those brakes look damn hot mate, how much they set up back all in?
-
HELP!! huge hesititation today
sounds a plan, as i dont have any kind of splash guard on the apexi.... where do i start with checking the maf then mate? guessing i need to get the nose panel off (somehow...) and then the apexi and see if its all wet in there?

HELP!! huge hesititation today
mate what did you do to fix it / find the fault to be? as ive said it still happens even with a full fuel load.... i mean it was cold today but im pretty sure it wasnt det as there was no nasty noise other than the random rev drops / rise..
-
HELP!! huge hesititation today
hi guys, the car does over fuel slightly, but nothing this bad, its not so much just a loss of power as the revs dont continue to smoothly rise which they should if im just running too rich, the surging is pretty violent really... as for the fuel it did the same after the car was refueled with optimax to full so should be more than enough fuel and pressure from the fuel weight for the pump. as for the wet mantra... it had happened once before when it had been raining but that was 3 months ago, nothing in between... no rain here today.. (well not unitl after the event...) but i had washed the car a couple of days ago... although we have had some hot weather in between so any water ingress should have dried out i guess..... what you thinking?

HELP!! huge hesititation today
Driving my zed to see the mrs at work and the following happend.. car was warned up with less than 1/4 tank of gas, no warnings and i went to over take a car, used Wide open throttle, from about 40mph, revs climbed to 4-5k then huge hesitation, revs dropped my foot was still on gas as i took in what happend, this dip n loss of power then climb cycle happend 2/3 time while i realised, took off WOT and then overtook. There was no sound from the engine like knocking or pinking or anything, so hopeing its not det... I refuled the car, let it warm up and tried it once more, same thing happend... also tried it with my profec B turned off exaclty the same.. The profec isnt set for high boost really, the max ive ever had is 12psi, only once and that worked fine, with the profec off the car reached a spike of 10.5 psi then started to drop.. The zed is mattys old black zed is anyone knows the car, but basically spec wise has apexi, scorpion exhaust, JWT Cip (although i havent checked this was just told it by previous owner...probably should check at some point...) and the profec. Its an auto uk TT been serviced recently at zed world and they didnt hint at anything... Also noticed during the winter if i braked hard while the car was still warming up sometimes it would stall (PCV valves thing i think..) but its fine now the weathers heated up... Advice guys...

petrol to miles
to be honest i dont get that much different to craig david in a uk chipped TT with profec boost controller. Really depends how you drive her, you can get around 300 miles from a tank as long as your drinking lots at wide open throttle under boost... i user my zed every day for shortish drives and still get around 230miles per tank, on longer runs hit around 330- even 400 once (pretty careful in that case as was doing 80mph on a clear motorway chatting away with mates, so very casual...) zeds not bad for gas really....
