  1. Um yes Si, he only showed the numbers as the draw was being made. He said it's taken him a year to get them so no chance of everyone winning anything
  2. Working out the diff ratios and gearbox ratios i found out my V8 will be doing 90mph at 1550RPM  ...and it'll still be doing 16mpg :D lol
  3. Have you checked your TPS voltage? Can make a huge difference on these stupid cars. Sad to hear the coil packs didn't solve it though :(
  4. Not good buddy, always crap when you get a bad zed. I had one of my 4 that i sunk penny after penny into to get it right so i know where you're coming from :( Good luck with whatever you decide to get but hope you'll be back with another zed at some point soon :)
  5. Might be worth talking to the guys who built slick pete's engine for him. They seem very thorough and not afraid to try new things. Might be worth PMing him for their details
  6. Was thinking about the same thing myself for next year :)
  7. Great work buddy, well done :D
  8. lol, the zed steering rack runs at 1200psi which is a fair old amount it has to be said! Just hope i tightened those pipes up!
  9. The AEM wideband sensor with gauge i bought set me back £180 and came with a pre-tapped hole that you have to drill and weld onto the manifold
  10. It all adds up though buddy, amazing how much more you can do if you just use the zed as a weekend/evening car
  11. Great stuff, some times the subtle things can make all the difference! :)
  12. I was using the zed as a daily driver while i was at the cottage as i was only 6 miles from work but bought the metro to do a bit more mileage in and i was saving about 50 quid a week! The car paid for itself in under 2 months :) Waiting till next year then i'm putting the zed on a classic policy when i hit 30 and then use the 10+ years no claims on something a bit more exciting to commute to work in probably a volvo V70 estate D5
  13. Cheers buddy, i'll keep you all updated as I get somewhere just lots of half finished jobs at the mo so don't want to spoil the suprise :) Hopefully have some finished pics of the interior this week :D
  14. Oh i will do, there's nothing really worth recording at the moment but i might do a quick vid tonight walking round the car so you can see a bit more. The first start will be recorded in full HD for posterity :) That's why i'm trying to get the exhaust done first so that I can get that carb set up as we've got it started up the first time. I've been told i have to run it at 2000 rpm for 20 minutes to break the cam in before i can switch it off so just hope i get the right needle and spring combo first time!
  15. The garage is awesome! :D Last weekend I moved the car to the centre and lifted it clean off the ground with a ramp in each corner so it's nice and secure. Makes working on the car alot easier as i'm a tall chap and I can get underneath alot easier :) The whole place is a tip though and I think it needs a clean! I'm going to give it a good sort out this week then the whole project's going to go quiet for a bit until i get the time/money for the valvetrain setup (about £800), i've got a website in which should pay for it and in the meantime i'll get the exhaust cut, welded and mounted up and the prop shaft marked up ready to send off and get cut, welded and balanced. Loads to be done which i can do without the money there but i really want to at least get the engine running in the next few weeks if possible
  16. Thanks buddy, it'll look better when i've finished laying the fibreglass cover to go over the battery and around the cdchanger and tidy it all up :) I just had to make sure there's something inbetween so the chganger doesn't arc to the bodywork from the positive terminal! lol That'll be one on the list of jobs to do over xmas methinks!
  17. I made the decision that i wasn't that bothered about the way it looked even if the paintwork is shite on the front wing and there's overspray everywhere so long as it runs  So plan is get it on the road and break it in over the winter period doing my commute once a week up the m1 to work and back (about 60) then over xmas work on the little bits of the interior I still want to do and fabricate the bonnet (have to make the vents from ally and get them welded in, none of this fibreglass rubbish lol) When the weather improves and i've got some more money i'll give it a full respray and start work on buying in all the adjustable suspension parts including coilovers to get the stance and handlingjust right then it's off to gelscoe motorsport where i'll get Andy and the team to track test it and set the suspension up properly. Andy's a pro race driver so it'll do a few laps round donnington while he gets it right :D So hopefully by the time it gets to the shows next year it should be 100% complete :hyper: Ah now i did think about that, it's on the passenger side to counteract the driver's weight in the right side and also there will be the sub on the right hand side so all in all the balance should be pretty good :D
  18. Cheers Sean, they look the dogs in the car now. Thanks for keeping me in mind when you got some more you're a star :) I did have some nice 25mm spacers but I sold those with those lovely split rims to zairs, i wonder if he'd sell them back to me :D I just haven't had the time or money to do it but once this is done i'll have a bit more spare cash in my pocket and some more free time :) I've already got one thank you :) It's not the scarab bumper its the one it's based off although after seeing there's a polyurethane version for sale i might save up for that although ultimately i'd love the 99 spec if i could afford it at some point next year. Photoshop of current bumper although the licence plate will be in the vent not mounted on the front
  19. Is it that time already??? blimey! I won't be buddy, i'm going to the "other" event this year for the friday night till saturday afternoon. I'm going to EVERY event next year with the V8, got to make up for going to no shows for 2 years - plus its one in the eye for my ex to see despite all the shite she left me in i still finished my project :) lol
  20. Would definately be interested in trying this one while i've got everything apart :D Nice meeting you today Baz and cheers for the steering column :)
  21. Great news buddy, welcome back :D
  22. Cheers buddy, coming along nicely now. Just need to test fit the exhaust and then get the pipes welded up to fit the swb
  23. A little bit of adaption to the boot panels... Means the battery and changer fit flush to the side of the boot panel in front Sits a bit proud in this photo but after some adaption is sits nicely. Just need some fibreglass and a bit of carpet/leatherette to finish it off as a cover: New chrome handles: And all silver switches removed and replaced with stock series two: And HIDs installed:
