  1. I have to agree with Munny, go out and do something to drag yourself out of the depths. It is hard, i was engaged until may then it ended suddenly and it took a lot to get over it but i feel so much better now, better than i have for years.

  18. I'm just weighing up the benefits of registering as a kit car over getting the motorsport companies i've been doing some work for to put their name to the build to get it legitimately on the road as the current car. It's no problem really doing that and it's the easiest way to get it on the road (just send off the letters to the DVLA then MOT) Kit car insurance doesn't use no claims as far as i remember so i might get a better deal than the quoted £900 fully comp with 9 years no claims through adrian flux but i'm assuming it has to be sva registered as a kit car
  19. And you can't use a private plate on it after registering as a kit car?
  20. I'm starting to think of the benefits of registering the V8 as a kit car. You need 8 points to retain your age related plate but i can sort of say that i don't quite meet that: chassis or body shell (body and chassis as one unit - monocoque ie direct replacement from the manufacturer) (original or new) = 5 points suspension = 2 points axles = 2 points transmission = 2 points steering assembly = 2 points engine = 1 point Chassis i can't say has changed tbh, it's the same although the front subframe is a one off. Suspension is aftermarket (springs and shocks) but ultimately it's a standard setup. Axles are the same BUT the hicas has been removed so it has been altered Transmission is a one off along with the engine and the steering rack assembly, arms and mounting are all unique. What are the benefits of running it on a q plate? Can i still use my custom plate? Insurance should be cheaper too if it's a kit car
  21. That's me ****ed then  In that case i might go the SVA route and declare it a new car :) New engine and drive train, new steering system, new subframe, etc so should just scrape through
